So say i want to get into rbas and rebuildables. I have been vaping about 3 months. Ignore my sig lol. I have been completely cig free for 3 days, which i am pretty proud of myself over. I gradually worked myself down and now i am completely free, and cravings are completely gone. I dont even want those nasty things, thank god. I have been reading alot on e cigs and all things related, but i still dont know as much as id like to, all takes time i suppose. My main vape is a mvp2 which i love, but id like to get into some more diy stuff. Im not a complete noob, i do alot of reading and have learned alot. Although i know absolutely nothing about rbas. Say i want to buy my first setup. What are some must haves? If i were to go out and buy my first rba tommorow what would you recommend? I want some huge vape clouds, as well as a pretty stout throat hit. Give me the skinny here. I thank you for your help. I love this site and you all are very helpful.

For use on a MVP2, my recommendation would be to start with a dripping style RBA or RDAs (Rebuildable dripping atomizer) as they are called.
IGO-L/s/w, Octopuss, a7, pheonix.
Silica and cotton wicks are more forgiving while learning, then SS mesh wicks are.
Research micro-coils, there is a good thread in the REO sub section. They are capable of putting out good amounts of vapor on regulated devices, like your MVP.

I went to an RBA two months into vaping, and I'm very glad I did. I started out with the SS wick right away, and 28 kanthal, which worked just dandy. I got the AGA-T2, which I'm quite happy with, but the RSST is another very fine first RBA. Since you will be using it on a regulated mod you don't want to go sub-ohm so wrap your coils accordingly. I'm sure you have seen the various videos on YT on the subject, you seem like one who does his homework, so don't let it scare you and just take your time. You will do just fine, but down the road a piece you may want to consider getting a mechanical mod and explore beneath the ohms barrier of your regulated device.

Thank you for your guy's help!. Ive checked a few products above, i had a hard time finding the phoenix. but i think i narrowed down to maybe an a7? although idk..i see the igo-l and the likes being talked about all the time. I did come across the new aurora bft. will these give me the same flavor? is it reaallly worth it instead of building your own?

I got an IGO-W not to long ago as my first RDA which came with some wick and wire and it worked ok for me, granted I bought it to teach myself have the RBA/ RDA style works and I would highly recommend it for your trial device. Its cheap, easy to put together, and you can go back and set up a better coil system once your more familiar with it.

Well you can get a good mech mod that will do that for you. I'm looking at getting a KTS and Chi You when I get the money. Bare in mind that using a mech mod gives a higher chance for a short. Devices like the MVP have short circuit protection but I mech mod is gonna have squat.

My suggestion is get a cheapy RDA and play with it a bit and see how you like it. I know I can get some mean vapor clouds on my MVP and SVD with my DCT carto and that's pretty fun...especially when you fog out the front seats of a car by yourself. ^_^

No worries, I'm right there with you. Whats helped me out tremendously is watching Phil Busardo's videos because when he reviews a RBA or an RDA he also shows you how to build the coil for it and that's helped me out a lot. Building your own coil will help the most since then you know what it is their talking about but watching reviews where they explain step by step what it is that their doing really helped to give me an idea of what it is that I was doing.

Yea I would agree with others that the Igo-W is a relatively inexpensive way to get into RBAs

I actually purchased my first rda. I did buy a igo-w. its just a single coil, which i wish i wouldve went with a dual, but oh well this is my first one and that way it keeps it really simple. I the guy at the b&m built my first coil and it is working like a beast! even on my mvp2. Ive been running it around .9- 1.0 ohms. Drilled the air hole out a lil bigger and its foggin up great. I think i made the hole a lil too big, but no biggie its working great.
