So.. I did a little black friday shopping, and snagged an Igo L, and an AGA T2 from one vendor, and 10 feet each of every available kanthal from another, and batteries of all sorts from another (basically, whoever had the best deal got my business that day)

The batteries arrived yesterday, the atomizers arrived today, and I am waiting on the wire.... this is a bummer looking at my first dripper, and not being able to build it. It did come with a little packet for your first build, but the wire is really short, like not long enough to try my first coil ever on... I need room for error.

I also read on here someone else questioning the quality of the extras in the box, but i cannot vouch there... I just hope I get my vapemail tomorrow....

You soaked them?

Many atomisers (particularly the cheaper Chinese ones - that isn't a dig, I have both you mention, and they've served me well :) ) have machine oil left on them.

Soaking in mildly detergent hot water for a while helps, but you'd want to dry them fairly thoroughly. I personally think it's a habit worth having - and it does no harm. Some people use high-proof alcohol as well, though that's probably a bit drastic unless you have specific need to. And I'd think you'd want to remove the o-rings, gaskets, etc. first, if going that route.

But yes, I feel your pain. Every time I get a new toy, I can't use if for at least 24 hours... :(

I'm not ultra-religious about it or anything.

But I think it's a good habit, and I normally do.

And if you need an excuse to convince yourself you're not missing out, it suffices... ;)

I made the mistake of taking a pre-built RDA out of the mailbox, dripping juice into it, and vaping.

Probably the most horrible vaping experience I've ever had, lol.

Now I take everything apart and scrub it in a plastic basin with hot water and some dish soap. The results are a lot better.
