My understanding is an RBA is a Rebuildable Atomizer while an RDA is a Rebuildable Dripping Atomizer. So basically, one's a tank and one's a coil/wick set-up that you drip the liquid on directly. Someone please correct me if I'm off the mark.

Thank you so much! Ive seen some people put a tank on their mechanical mod, so r those the ones that are called RBA? And i tried to put iclear 30 on my mechh mod and it was hard to inhale from, im thinking they hae certain types of tank for mech mods also? Thanks again!

rba, re-buildable atomizer. Can refer to any re-buildable, whether dripper or tank.
rda, re-buildable dripper atomizer. This is a specific classification, but some tank systems can be drippers too.
rta, re-buildable tank atomizer. This has been a recent designation, to classify it as buildable and holds ml's of juice. While still being an rba, the t means tank.
rba/rda or rda tank. Some rba's can be used as tanks and/or drippers. personally am a big fan of dripping tanks.

Other abbreviations often specify specific rba's such as R91>Russian 91%, k.lite> kayfun lite, TGT> Taifun GT, flashi> Flash-e-Vapor V2, ... the list just keeps getting bigger every day. Often one has to search the thread when a new term comes out and go, oh, so the Russian 91 has gained R91 status. lmao.

You get use to it after hanging around to long, and then one automatically defaults to "Vape Speak" and find it hard to newbie speak. Usually will try and offer both terms when posting in the new member section, for my first post on a thread. After that its back to rba, rda, and toto too. lmao.

As always, welcome to the ecf, and congrats on your vape.

Vape long and Prosper.!!!!

Oh yeah,

I started out on a igo-L and fell in love with them because they are so easy to build and use. The flavor is great for me. I am waiting on a Kayfun Lite because if has been highly recommended. I do not chase clouds either but I have noticed that my normal juice seems to taste better in a dripper. I really don't know why but it does and I am happy about it. (which it takes very little to make me happy). Good luck to you and welcome to ecf. :)

That may be due to the resistance. IMO mechanicals shine at 1.5Ω or below. I generally like 1Ω-1.2Ω and get plenty of vapor. If you don't have one, buy yourself an ohm meter if you're just getting into rebuildables. They're indispensable! The IGOs are great to start with. I learned on an IGO-W I got on sale for $10. The stock air hole is a bit small though.

Personally, not a big fan of drippers, a lot of work to get a vape. Much prefer tank systems. Built right a good rba tank can deliver every bit as good a vape as a dripper, but has 5 ml of juice on board. Some of my tanks are drippers too. They make it nice to test the build and help break in and season a wick before tanking up.

For someone new to rba's, would recommend something like the Russian/Kayfun, Flash-e-Vapor V2, or the Tailfun GT & GS. All are outstanding rba's. One does need some basic tools and understanding of the process. The http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/coil-builds/416271-micro-coils-increase-vapor-flavor-th.html thread is where I learned to become a competent builder. Make sure and check it out. An ohm meter is a must, if your mod comes equipped with one, that will suffice, needle nose pliers and tweezers, blunt tip syringe needles or drill bits, come in handy too. A decent propane torch is nice addition to a builders tool box.

Start off simple, gain experience and knowledge, and see where building leads. Some of the best, most trouble free vape, can be found in the rba world. Just takes some time, patience, and inclination to get there.

Vape long and Prosper!
