Here are some pics of my Mephisto. It's a real one. This atty is just incredible. I forgot I had it, rediscovered it and have been pummeling juice with it again for 3 days straight now. The top cap is domed, insulated and when attached to the base there is very little head room causing tremendous flavor. Here are some pics:

As you can see, the build deck has mammoth post holes for most any build you can throw at it. For hot hot builds this thing can take it.

I use abit of an elongated tip for a clapton spitter and here are some final pics. I do not use the vanity rings as I love this thing in full airflow mode. This thing is top 3 atty for me and very close to a number 1. I never understood why it does not get more play on the board. Construction is impeccable.

Yep. It's a great one. I still use mine a lot. I bought the authentic copper at Vape Fest in Miami.

Believe it or not, at one point in time, I sought out buying vape bands. My reasoning: there were no drippers on the market with the type of adjustable airflow that I required, or at least none I had in my posession. I had a Mutation X v1 with a chuff cap and wanted to cut down the airflow. So, I used a vape band.

Never knew they had a purpose! The TFV4 tank comes with them, but that is because the top cap is hinged for refilling, and it is possible, although not likely, to set it down on an irregular surface or whatever, and accidently pop the top open, spilling the contents. The band serves to keep it closed, as well as protecting the glass. I like the Crowns way of doing it though, Screw off top cap, oversized to protect the glass. Less cheesy, more foolproof.

Just built my AX1 and so far all I can is that I love this thing! Money well spent. Only vaped on it for about 15 minutes so far so I'll wait a little bit to post my first impressions but as of now, I can't find a negative thing to say about it.

The new Ruby mod from Kennedy Enterprises. Single 18650 tube mod with the Kennedy already attached, 24mm. Only thing that comes off is the top cap and the button. 235$....ouch. In case anyone's interested.

Okay guys, I need some help. Over the past 5 years I've been primarily a RTA guy and just got my first RDA the other day. The Vortice RDA V2. While it is awesome so far I want to maximize it's potential. I want to run a single coil build (due to max battery life and no desire to sub ohm) @ 1.2 ohms, what is the best way to do so? Vertical I'm guessing? Attached is how I am doing it now and surely you guys have some better ways of doing it. Also please give me a pic of an example.IMG_0591.jpeg

With that atty, I'd probably run 8 wraps or so of 24ga around a 3 mm screw driver. I'd run it as a horizontal coil but between the posts with the leads going in opposite sides of the posts so the coil is perfectly centered and the wicks drop straight into the juice well.

Since you mentioned the AX1, let me give my opinions on this thing so far.

Building on it was a piece of cake. I was expecting to be a real pain to get the leads the right length like I did on the Evil Monk, but it turned out to be super easy. Not to mention mounting and positioning the coils couldn't have been easier either. You just cut your leads about 8-10 mm on each coil and insert them into the holes and tighten the screws on the side. The coils are now standing way above the deck so you put your screwdriver back in and bend them down until they sit a few mm over the airflow. Dual coils are nice because it creates this little ceiling of coils that the airflow must hit before exiting through the drip tip. Even though coils sit pretty much directly under your mouth, spitback is not a problem at all. Somehow the juice well seems to hold a very good amount of juice (but I also did a scottish roll wick so it could be deceiving). I have not had the slightest bit of leaking. If you overdrip and juice gets into the air holes, you get maybe one gurgly hit; I believe most of the time the leaked juice will just get sucked back up into the airflow path and hit coils from underneath. Overall quality of it feels very nice too. The vape is similar to an origen; it has a bit of a tight, super smooth draw that brings out a lot complex notes in certain juices. I would say that the draw wide open is is slightly tighter than the origen using the 2 2mm air holes (I'd say it feels close to something like 2 1.8mm air holes if the origen had that option). I was slightly worried about the insulators being so close to the coils so I pulsed and tuned them at ~3.0 volts. I haven't messed around with coil positioning too much but my logic is telling me that it doesn't matter too much if you're using dual coils.

I have had an awesome couple of days with this thing and I'm a little sad to put it down but I got a really nice build in my Snapdragon so I'm gonna spend a few days with that next. I will post a full review with comparisons in a few weeks once I've had the time to vape it alongside my top 5 flavor atties (and maybe experiment a little more ;) )

Thanks for this! It was really informative (in ways I can only aspire).

I am not too sure there is enough *safe* room like the Stumpy has or the Hobo v3.1 to do that unless your coil has a really small ID. I am just guessing because I won't try it on that atty. Plus, with the way the airflow is, your coils should be as near those 'vortex' entry points as possible (my thinking at least).

Good looks on the Ruby find! I've been wanting to see more pics/price of this since I saw the first promo shot. For $235 I wouldn't consider that an "ouch," considering you're getting a direct to battery hybrid Kennedy 24. My brass Limitless + Diamondback Sleeve + Kennedy 24 adds up to $280 retail...but that's not what I paid :) Plus, the quality machining of the Kennedy 24 is incredible, I don't own a Comp Kennedy or Kennedy 22, but I know they're quality as well. The quality of Steve Kennedy's products would lead me to believe this mod is not going to break down on anyone anytime soon. Worth the price IMO

I only considered it an ouch cause I don't remember the last time I spent that much on vape gear lol considering I've been spoiled as late. Which I guess it isn't all that bad since you get both. I would really love the mod and the Kennedy but I wish they were a separate pair. I'd like a mod from them but be able to use other stuff on it too, cause I like the switch idea they used.

It looks like a SMPL mod & an AV Mod switch combined, but no magnets. It looks great though. I bet they come out with a Kennedy mod, just gotta have enough consumer demand for one. Considering it costs as much as a Brass AV Able mod (copper is more $), I'd say it's worth the money with a Kennedy 24 on top.

I heard they changed the deck for the Kennedy on the mod too. Whether that's true or not I can't confirm but its what I'm reading. Interested to see what that looks like.

Hm, one thing I can think of that would be changed is the post spacing. It might be a little wider between posts & maybe thicker posts & bigger post holes. My only gripe with the Kennedy 24 is the size of the post holes. It's not bad though, I can fit dual 24/40g fused Claptons in it. That's the lowest gauge of fused Clapton I've thrown in it so far and they fit with room to spare. It'd be nice for the negative posts to be spread a little wider though, centering coils perfectly over the afc isn't hard, but annoying sometimes.
