I'm pretty new to RDA's. I just build on my Velocity V2 a kanthal 22G 7 wrap dual coil with a 3mm inside diameter measuring at .24 ohms. It's at 80 watts. The clouds and flavor are unbelievable.
I enjoy it so much more than the Cloud Beast tank or the TFV12. I'm hooked to my RDA after learning how to build two weeks ago. The tanks don't seem to give that rich satisfaction from a hit from a dripper. Do you use the Cloud Beast tank or the TFV12? Why would one want to use these over using an RDA?

because some people lack skill, ability, motivation, and/or time to rebuild an rda. they choose to buy coils because of the convenience.
Okay I understand that. With my build right now I'm getting more vapor than a cloud beast and I don't even have a "fancy" build.

I don't use stock coils, haven't for years but I use tanks cause of the convenience of not carrying juice around and having to reload every few vapes. My builds are .5ohm and higher 24 to 28 gauge kanthal and that satisfies me plenty. I do feel sorry sometimes for those who buy coils then complain to why they don't live up to expectations, they aren't ment to. Clapton is bout as fancy as I get other than a occasional twisted wire. Its each to their own to what and how they vape as long as your enjoying your experience, that's all that counts. I've been having exceptional experiences since I learned to rebuild the clearos of days gone by, protanks and a assortment of other tank systems. The dripper was just a constant mess of juice drops dripping, accidentally overfilled wells and orings that never held things tight for any length of time.

There are many reasons to rebuild.

Better flavor

More Control over the resistance.

Much cheaper. S coil costs me 1.5-2 cents abd lasts about 3 months. I use Kanthal abd Dry burn tge gunk off the coil and rewick.

If the deeming regulations stand abd coils and vape gear goes away. I DIY my ejuice, have 500 feet of wire. I did what i could to make those Bureaucrats irrelevant.

I find that some people simply go with the "popular" choice a lot, as many don't research, don't try various things, and go with "this must be good because others enjoy it so much".

And that's fine if it's giving them what they need out of vaping.

Some will be fine for a while, until the next best things comes around.... others may try new things and switch to the dark side..:p

I don't go with popular, I go with what seems right for me, and take I a lot of feedback from others that I trust(and have the money to spend on 20 new tanks a month because they love to try EVERYTHING).

I don't drip simply because I don't have time. I'm almost never in a situation where I have time to add more liquid every few puffs. RTA's are more convenient for me. The Cloud Beast is one of my favorites to build on.
I left dripping for the VERY SAME REASON.

I vape my Kompact Kayfun in avatar and LOVE it.

Using an RDA or RTA puts full Control at your finger tips.

I never liked tanks. Sometimes they are cool aesthetically(see my avatar lol) but I find the vape they produce thin and flavorless. Every now and then I get tired of the rebuilding, rewicking, having to drip every few draws stuff but that doesnt last any longer than the amount of time it takes to think of the alternative...I really dont like tanks.

That's pretty much what everyone would want I would think...

I tend to check what's new and see if I'll find something that'll catch my eye as better or fun to try.

For the leak thing, one thing that I can say is that it really does depend a lot on the wicking technique. Get it a bit off and the darn thing can be a waterfall at the worse time. With a new tank, it can takes at least 2-3 attempts to get the feel for it, should the tank be a particular one that is tricky. The worse time may not be that it'll leak while using it, but during the refill, some tank are extremely picky.

I use RTAs when I'm on the move and RDAs when I'm relaxing or hanging about. They both have their pros and cons (occasionally leaky rta/dripping every few puffs) and I've been leaning more towards RDAs lately. I started rebuilding after a couple bad experiences with a couple drop in coils, and I wanted to learn something new. Never buying tanks or drop in coils again.

I have a Nautilus Mini and 100 coils set aside for when i can't see well enough to rebuild.

Other than that its RTAs all the way.

I'd mostly agree, but there are times that a tank with a decent factory coil is useful, such as while traveling and you just want to throw 1 or 2 blister pack coils in the bottom of your carry on than a rewicking setup. Yes, a kit can be small, and only take a few minutes, but if I'm traveling, the one thing I don't want to do when I get back to my hotel room is rewick a tank.

Don't forget about Rdtas... if you want the dripping flavor from an rda without having to constantly drip. I have a few RDAs but they barely leave the house. My favorite set ups are RTAs better flavor that pre built coils and much easier to travel with than RDAs. I never have any leaking issues with them, and I usually buy a RTAs with juice flow control. You can shut down the tank and throw it in your pocket and not worry about it. No leaking when filling either.
As far as pre built coils I have limited it down to the Von Earl and icare for stealth, and my Nautilus mini for convenience and reliability.

Welcome to the club! If you think the flavor is unbelievable now, just wait till you've mastered building/wicking. :) When it comes to flavor, RDAs reign supreme, that's why they remain so popular. The icing on the cake is; you can rebuild/re-wick a RDA all year long using the best materials available for pennies, it's as close to cost free as it gets. How often in life does the "best" that's available cost the least to own/operate? ;)

For added convenience I like RDAs with deep juice wells (like the original "Magma") and some of the newer RDTAs like the Cthulhu "Gaia" for when out and about. Others prefer bottom fed drippers they can simply "squonk" to juice up.
