Re-filling the cartomizers

So I watched a video on refilling the cartomizers and it was good and helpful and the condom method is fairly easy. Going to try to find a video on using a syringe because I don't care for how much extraneous juice I have to clean up off the outside of the cart and not being able to see the 'slurry'. I want to know the thing's full, you know?

So far, so awesome on vaping. I do notice a bit of dry mouth, but I keep a nice big cup of ice water on hand at all times. I did also notice a bit of snarkiness between my BFF n myself last night. haha. And I wonder if that wasn't nic withdrawal, since the carts we got were only 11 mg, and the juice with which we refill is only 6 mg. Hmmm.

Lol at "sharkiness" I like that term! I can't offer too much advice I am afraid I'm new to the use of cartomizers. The experts should be along shortly to help you.

6 mg. is really low! I have been vaping a week and a half now and I have settled on 18 mg. being the right strength for me.

I have recently started vaping and am using 24mg. I guess it all depends on how many cigs/ppd you smoked.

For filling cartos with a syringe I use a needle with a point so it is easier to get between the filling and the carto wall. Insert it all the way down and very slowly inject the liquid in. I'll let you know how I do it, and you can decide if it might work for you. This is with smoktech dual coil cartos.

I use the condom for my first fill, fill it up about 2/3, and slowly push the carto down threaded side in. Let it sit for a few minutes. With the mouthpiece off (rubber stopper with a hole in it) tilt and drop 1 drop in, rotate about 1/3, 1 drop, rotate about 1/3, and 1 drop. Let it sit for about 5 min, then repeat. I do this until it stays slushy at the top. If it has any drops on the threads I wipe with a paper towel, I put the stopper back on, or a drip tip, and blow gently from the threaded side, tilting it so I don't blow juice everywhere. I sometimes lose a few drops, but with practice I have gotten to where I can usually do it without losing any.
When I start losing flavor or vapor, I top off the same way without the condom part.
This way works for me, but may not for everyone.

Most cartomizers hold from 30-35 drops. I don't care for the condom method because of the mess....I just take the white cap off, tilt the carto slightly, and drip the juice down the inside wall of the cartomizer.....when new, it may take a couple of seconds for the juice to absorb, but if you watch, it will. After around 30 drops, the stuffing in the carto should start to look like a slurpy, if not add a couple more drops until it does....put the white cap back on and hold a tissue to battery end and gently blow thru....screw it on and vape....very easy..
If you want to try the syringe method, place the needle between the carto wall and stuffing, being careful not to displace the stuffing too much....again about 30 drops equals 1 mil .....but this could end up being just as messy as the condom method.

I don't use condom nor syringe for filling/refilling cartos - I just drip from bottle on carto side untill it's slushy.

6-11 mg is a bit low. An average for a lot of users is 18-24 mg.
Besides, it's easier to dilute high strength nic if you think it's to high for you.

Is the strength of e juice nicotine content directly related to throat hit or
does it have more to do with the other ingredients, or is it a combination of both?

Some flavorings may have an effect but yes it is directly related to nicotine content.

Higher nicotine levels will definitely give you more throat hit. Flavorings such as menthol or cinnamon can also add to the throat hit.

Another factor in the TH equation is the PG/VG ratio of the juice. A high percentage of VG will mute the TH somewhat.

The syringe works pretty good for the first fill. After that I find it is easier to top off the carto by just dripping down the inside wall of the carto till the top gets a bit slushy. Avoid getting juice in the center hole as much as possible.

Also, it's probably better to go with a little less juice in the syringe than the carto is rated. Nother words, if the carto is supposed to hold 1 ml juice, fill the syringe with only .8 ml. If it is supposed to hold 2 ml, load about 1.7ml into the syringe.

If more is needed, the last few drops can be dripped on to the filler.

I recommend an 18ga needle. Much easier to draw the juice out of the bottle than with a 20 or 22 gauge.

Yeah, snarkiness can be caused by a nicotine deficiency. You can either wait it out a couple of weeks til your system adjusts, or bump it back up to 11mg or 16mg.
