Had it for 2 days now and decided it was time.

The coil I.D. for the 2.5ohm heads is 1.4-1.5mm so I used one strand of cotton from some 3mil. cotton yarn.
Doubled over it becomes 1.5mm. approx.

I use a folded over piece of kanthal wire with the loose ends twisted together and the yarn doubled over the looped end of the kanthal to feed it through the coil.

For me using 80PG/20PG it's better than new. The only downside I've noticed so far is I can basically watch the juice level go down. It wicks very well.

No flooding, no burning, hitting hard at 4 volts YMMV.:vapor::vapor:

I have only tried the cotton yarn I originally bought. Even after boiling, it initially has an odd (cottony?) flavor. I haven't had that with the bamboo. Other than that, I think they're both about the same. I don't know the size and type of the bamboo I'm using. Another member here sent a lot of it to some us (wish I could remember his name as he deserves mention). Nevertheless, it is very similar in size to the cotton (yarn-like if that helps).

Thank-you, I can see how cotton may have a particular flavour to it. I opted to get mine from JRcustomturnings up here in Canada. It's a buck/meter so as far as yarn/string go is fairly expensive. I don't bother boiling it and find it relatively flavourless.
Though smoking for about 40 yrs. may have killed a few taste buds.

I'm experiencing some minor seepage with my Protank and 1.5mm. of wick in it.
It may be better to add another 1/4-1/2mm. to the 1.5mm. thats currently in there.
Live and learn.

Wow...buck a meter is expensive. Think I paid about $2 for an entire spool. Glad it's working for you, though. I get minor seepage on the ProTank even with stock wicks, so I wouldn't worry about it. I think I've had that on every clearo and carto I've ever used. Taste and longevity are what matters most to me. Silica lasts longer and can be dry burned, cotton/bamboo taste better but have to be replaced rather than cleaned/dry burned. When I rebuild ProTank coils, I've been adding some more bamboo like the flavor wicks on the stock heads and they don't seem to seep any worse and taste better. All the best!

Good idea to lay a couple strands on top of the coil. Thanks.
Ive been doing the stardusts and vivi's for quite a while using the 1.5mm.
cotton and only twice had leaking issues due to me not fluffing the wick
well enough.

The coil on the Protank seemed smaller so I figured the 1.5mm. would be plenty.
Apparently not with a bottom coil. Thanks again for helping with the "lay wicks on top"
option.

Cheers Flyer, Hitme:vapor::vapor:
