I have been vaping for a little over a month now. When stopped at a traffic signal, I generally look around to see those stopped with me in the adjacent lanes. Now, I am starting to noticed people's reactions when they see me taking a drag off of my e-cig and blowing out the clouds. One lady today, just stared at me with her mouth agape and eyes agog!

I just waved and went my way...once the light turned green.:vapor:

How often can you construct a sentence and use the words agape and agog in one sentence? Not often I'll bet. I'm going to vape more at lights and see if I can use them in an upcoming sentence here at ECF myself. Very exciting. Thanks for sharing!

Edit:
if we can just get them to open their door a little bit, we can add ajar to the sentence. something to shoot for, don't you think?

I generally don't get much reaction to my ecig when I am stopped at a traffic light, and I pay attention to the drivers around me! I'm actually shocked at how many people don't react to my ecig at all, when I'm in the bank, the hardware store or Wal-Mart. (Which I think is a good thing!) When I'm stopped at a light and I see another driver who's smoking a cigarette, I think, "Oh, you poor thing... you're still on analogs!"

These threads crop up from time to time and almost always end up with in a variation of a 'my right to vape', 'cops are cool' or 'cops suck', type of argument.

I vape in my truck all the time - but I don't even notice who is around me at the light. I can't be bothered. In this small town everyone is looking to see who is with who and what they are doing. It drives me nuts, I just want to get to where I am going and have a vape on the way.

So if you see a dude in a silver truck just minding his own business blowing a small plume from a VMOD, just leave him alone and quit looking at him.

There was a mention a year or so ago about a woman who got pulled over for vaping and was made to dump all of her juice because she couldn't prove it wasn't a controlled substance.

Dumping it is inappropriate in any case. If it isn't controlled, don't dump it. If it is, she was destroying evidence, and abetted by the cop. Strange logic, indeed.

Thanks! I had my school teacher wife read it and she was happy I used them both properly!

I've had people stare at me at traffic lights. One time, another driver caught my eye as though he needed to ask me for directions. When I rolled my window down, he asked me, "what is that thing.?"
I replied that it was a PV or electronic cigarette.
All he said was, "Wow! That thing is HUGE!" (I was using an eVic with a protank 1)
I laughed and said, "Yup. I know!"

I was also pulled over a while back for my license plate light being burned out.
The cop asked me what my PV was. When I told him he simply asked me if it worked. I told him I hadn't smoked in over a year and a half. Then I "demonstrated" it for him, and said, "See? No smoke!"
He told me to fix the light and let me go. :)

Hey there atx_cloud,
Same here, those that "really want to know" have rolled down the window and asked. Those that are "stuck in the past" just roll their eyes and start looking around for the "authorities". As an early adopter, the stares are getting easier. :p

I almost want my juice seized and run through the crime lab's gcms just to see exactly what is in it and in what concentrations.

There was never an intention of a cop-bashing thread. From my point of view, there are good cops, indifferent cops and bad cops. I have never feared the police (probably should have through my earlier years).

I have nothing to hide. I vape. I have found it easier to drive the speed limit, get my car inspected, pay my registration and make sure my car insurance is paid. Perhaps I am getting old, perhaps I gained a bit of wisdom along my way, but most likely, I think I just grew tired of looking over my shoulder all the time.

Anyhow, it struck my as funny that woman looking at me like I had just fell out of a tree.

My post wasn't aimed at you atx, it's just whenever anyone posts threads like these they do tend to degenerate into a pro / anti police thread. This one didn't, yay :toast:

Earlier today a guy in a 1982 El Camino rolled next to me at the light as I let go a HUGE plume inside my car with the windows up. The fellow looked to be in his fifties, big dirty beard and a tank top. He rolled down the passenger side window, so I rolled down my driver's side window. Then he asks me, "Is that weed?" I laughed and told him what it really was and that I'd just quit smoking. He just shook his head, lit an analogue, and dropped the clutch at the light.

Old school vs new school I guess.

Vape on.

I doubt anyone would have a problem with the police.
They are updated about new "Criminal tools" and trained to know if the driver is dui of anything.
Infact, I was pulled over for a non stop at a sign and my ego was in my door handle , he never said a word told me i was getting a warning and to have a good one.
