Thanks for the info - Any thoughts on using a 'pen type' module like the eGo C Twist? I am using the istick right now and it works well with the tank I have, but looking for a secondary vape device to use at work, etc that is not so large

the twist and spinners are great for out and about I have paired mine with evods and protank minis seems to work really well for me.

also be sure to always have a back up just in case, batteries runs out coils stop working, I always carry a spare and extra juice

thank you - going to look at the Twist tomorrow and will remember to ask about a spare battery

dscottj, something you said really struck a cord. I actually enjoy the routine and feel of smoking a lot. I'm just 3 weeks in, coming off more than a pack a day in a high stress job. I found that using a cigalike (KR808) and sticking to the exact same routine took away a lot of the anxiety. I still take "smoke breaks" at work to escape the office. I can hardly tell that what I've got in my hand isn't a cigarette. I even unconsciously try to ash it by flicking the filter. Also I found some good non-sweet tobacco-like juice. I wouldn't jump right into mods and exotic juices - the break in routine for someone like me that actually enjoyed smoking would be too stressful.

Vaping it fun and enjoyable the more you delve into it. So much different ways and devices will blow your mind. For me it turned into a hobby and now making my own juice and mods. Good thing about vaping is i dont smell, it costs less especially if you make your own juice and i can jog now without my lungs feeling like they are on nuclear meltdown. I have moved down from 24mg to 6-3mg. Find your flavor juice, device, coil setup and it will for sure help you quit. You do not have to do all that as you can stay with the minimum like a cartomizer setup but the blu e cig and crap didnt help me at all. Do not get overwhelmed by all the technicalities, just ask all the helpful members on this website and they sort you out. Glad you are getting serious about dropping the coffin nails for good.

I have smoked since 19 and am now 26. I started vaping since February and have spent a ton on mods and stuff. I really enjoy vaping as a hobby and would like to stop smoking, but like you I have a bit of a issue with cutting smoking out. I don't know if you are the same, but to me it just doesn't satisfy my as much as smoking does. I really don't know exactly how vaping works for some and not fully for me. I feel like though both of us are in the right place to fully stop if we want to as there are a lot of good helpful people here.

consider it a ciggie reduction program at first.... vape when you need to and when that overpowering urge hits you, have the ciggie... eventually you will find the urge for the ciggie declines over time...
this way you dont get the anxiety of knowing you are trying to force yourself to quit... you still have the option to have one.

Take a look at the Innokin iTaste VV4. Vv, 3-6 volts; VW, 6-15 watts, 1000mAh rechargable, eGo and 510 threaded so pick your tank, no bigger than a vape pen. I bit fatter, but no shorter, is the-- I can't believe I'm saying this-- eLeaf iJust2. 4.5ml tank, 2600mAh LiPo pack, two coils available (subohm!) for 50-100 watts. I'm even looking at one; me, the old mech modder :)

I tried and failed so many times at quitting smoking that it got to the point where just thinking about quitting put me into a panic. I tried Blu's, and they were a complete failure for me and a waste of money to boot. Finally went into a vape shop and got an eGo batt and CE4 and some 30mg menthol juice. I immediately cut down to a couple cigarettes a day. Did that for about six months, then went into radiation treatment for prostate cancer, and started smoking full time again. After I finished treatment I went back to vaping and cut out the cigarettes completely. After a week with no cigarettes the cravings went away completely. Seven months and counting...

My favorite for work is an eGo One 1100mah batt with an eLeaf GS Air MS tank. The whole rig is under 4 1/4" including drip tip. I'm a Plus Ohm/Standard Voltage kind of guy so this really does the trick for me.

Agreed - it's the routine that is hard to break and the thought of that alone was causes me a lot of anxiety and unhappiness prior to making the commitment. I have had only 5 cigarettes all day which for me is pretty good considering that I was at 15 per day for the last 2-3 years. Will let go when the time is right and I will just do it.

yes, the option to have one is important - no one wants to be forced and to fail because they were not ready - thanks for the thoughts

yes, there are good helpful people here - you are in good position to quit when you are ready because you are young still and haven't done the damage a lot of us have... never to late when you are ready, you will know and it will just make sense - good luck!

I've been vaping for a short time compared to others. 11 days since my last analog. I was smoking a pack a day for about 10 years. I wasn't sure how I'd feel once I got my kit set up, but it gave me the nic I needed and the feel of smoking. I haven't really felt tempted for a cig at all. My sense of smell is better, I feel like my breathing is clearer and I don't smell like an ashtray anymore. It's great!! Welcome and good luck!!

My boyfriend and I were pack a day (sometimes more) smokers and we literally went from smoking to vaping in one weekend. The first three days might be a little rough as there are other chemicals in cigarettes that you're addicted to aside from the nicotine but once you make it past that and have a setup you like you'll do just fine. We started with a Kangertech EVOD 2 starter kit but found we really enjoy the variable voltage style. We're now using the Aspire 1300mAh batteries (probably bought those a month into our adventure after trying the Aspire Vision Spinner which was also VV) paired with a Nautilus Mini tank.
As for juices, he still goes for Tobacco flavours sometimes, but usually ones that have a bit of a twist to them instead of trying to recreate the exact flavour of the cigarettes we used to smoke. And I gravitate towards fruity and dessert flavours most of the time.
We found juices that were higher in PG were helpful when first quitting as they 'felt' kind of like a cigarette, but now we usually go for 50/50 blends or higher VG for a nice smooth experience (and big clouds!).

Welcome to the forum! Hope that we're of some help in your new adventure!

I was a pack-and-half a day smoker for 20 years when I started this. The hardest was the morning cigarette. So I didn't stress it and smoked that 1 a day for about 2 weeks. Then none now for almost 2 years.

Just find a device you're comfortable with to start. Mine was a simple eGo with a Kanger pro tank. And I needed a juice that simulated cigarette taste for a while so I could ween myself off of them.

Thanks for the encouragement. Maybe the "when I'm ready" thing is what is ultimately holding me back. I tried in the past and it didn't work and when I started vaping and cut back not smoking just felt odd. It wasn't odd in that I felt bad, it was odd a mental way if that makes sense. I always smoke at certain times or in certain places and it was very different to me to not do it. Also in a strange way, actually not strange since I looked it up and it happens to others, I feel as though smoking is part of my identity, I am a smoker. I hope when I move to japan in December/January that I can break the habit by removing myself from a lot of the times, people, and places that contribute to my smoking. Also I will be super broke so that may help, I won't smoke the cheap stuff, American Spirit Black only which are $7.30-8 or more a pack and I smoke 8-15 a day.
