Hi, new member here.
I started vaping in late September (I had relapsed on cigarettes the month before after starting grad school) and have been pretty happy with my experience so far. I started out with an ego and a clearomizer. I started using the vivi nova and vivi nova mini the next month and have been rebuilding the heads.
Anyways, my family asked what I wanted for Christmas and the only thing I could think of was some new vaping equipment. I want to upgrade to something more advanced and I've been doing a lot of research online. At this point, I'm leaning towards a lavatube or one of the ihybrid mods. I've been watching a lot of reviews on the ihybrids and I believe I understand what I'd be getting into. I also watched some tutorials on putting in new wicks and coils on the genesis atomizer and, while it looks like there might be a little bit of a learning curve, I believe I can figure it out. I'm also attracted to the aesthetics of the ihybrid and the concept that it is fully mechanical since it seems that a lot of the parts can be ordered. The only real downside to that I can see to the ihybrid is that it seems to be in limited supply.
On the other hand, the lavatube is much cheaper and that's a plus. However, I'm not totally impressed with the vivi nova and I have been thinking about switching to a glass carto tank. So, either way, this is probably going to add up quickly. My other concern with the lavatube is the quality and durability. One of the local shops here is selling the young june lavatubes and they look decent enough in the store, but I'm worried about long term use. I'd rather get something more expensive if it's going to last. The fact that it has electronic components also makes me a little wary. I'm not sure what, if anything, can be done if something on it breaks. Additionally, the local shop only has a 30 day warranty on it, and who knows what that actually covers.
Since I've never had a chance to try a genesis style atty, I can only go by what I gather online, but it seems pretty high quality. Is there anything else I'm not considering? Does anyone have any advice, insight, or recommendations? Any help is greatly appreciated.
