...ohm(resistance) reading, not voltage...set meter for ohms, zero out meter, take carto(all alone) and place one lead on the center pin, the other on the threads...no buttons to push..........
madjack:2cool:
Nope. Put the meter on Ohms, Zeroed out, put one on the center pin of the atomizer, one on the threads of the battery.

Now should I read it?

...yes.............

center of the carto/atty and the threaded part of the carto/atty.

...yes.............

with no battery attached? That was what MJ told me, but there is no power unless

...yes...........

You're checking the atty for resistance, not voltage. Set the meter to Ohms, you don't need the battery to check resistance, you actually don't want any voltage going through the unit when checking voltage as it could break the meter.

...yes, with the atty disconnected from the batt...set the meter to ohm(resistance) at the lowest scale available....short leads together and adjust meter to read 0...touch one lead to the threads of the atty and one to the center pin...the meter at this point should give the ohm rating of the atty( the meter has an internal batt which supplies power for this test)...........

spaceOmatic,

Thanks for bringing this to our attention. I only vape my SS Don @ 7.4v with a HV DSE801 VaporKings atty. I prefer the warmer, bigger vapor that it produces. But I always feel a little conspicuous using it when I'm out-and-about. So this would be perfect for O-A-A vaping.

I will be ordering one soon.

Ok, so mine came in the mail a couple of days ago. Ordered 1/19/12, received 1/23/12, which is great, considering there was a weekend in there. Thanks Shawn & associates @ litecigusa.net!

First impressions; Great TH, great vapor production. It gets warm when you chain vape it (but not unbearable). Atties are proprietary (tried one on my SS Don, the threading is different). I put one of the included cartridges in the first atty. After the initial break-in time for the atty, it wasn't too bad. Then I put the other atty on (this time I washed it out first, which shortens the atty's break-in time) and dripped what I usually vape. I wanted to see if it was comparable to my Don as far as flavor was concerned. I gotta say, it's was kinda hard to tell the difference. As for the batts, they trigger easily, which I prefer. I've had some autos that you had suck your brains out to trigger them. A nice slow semi-short draw created a warm, flavorful drag perfectly for me (see video clip). I'm still working on the vape time per batt. I didn't pre-charge them, I just put the atty on and started vaping. They both lasted between 30 and 40 minutes. EDIT: So I've been moderately vaping it for over 4 hours and it hasn't quit yet, I'll continue the test tomorrow. Charging time was approx. 1 hour and 40 min. Since I just received it, I'll have to get back to you concerning it's longevity. I figure if it last a month, that's a buck a day ($30 @ litecigusa), which is no where close to what you'd spend on a pack of smoke per day for 30 days ($6 x 30 = $180). $30 vs $180… It's a no brainer!

Conclusion; Would I recommend it to a newbie, yes. Here's why; it can provide the TH that they had with an analog, which I think is a big reason a lot of newbies revert back. Plus it has a warm draw that produces a ton of vapor with little effort, just like analogs. It also has a little-to-no "fiddle" factor, just plug-and-play. But it's not to say it doesn't have a couple of cons; for one, the short battery life, and second, is that it uses proprietary atties.

Will I use it when I'm O-A-A? HELL YA!

For what it's worth, that's my :2c:

Oh! I just saw this, and I am so thankful that somebody besides myself considered this a contender. I thought I was going nuts, but when I saw this, even after I tested the voltage, there it was.
My eyes weren't deceiving me.
Just like you, I thought it might be a good place for a Newbie to start, as it hits the closest I've found to an analog- the biggest reason Newbies give up is that they miss that throat hit and ease of use.
Since I first tested it, it's still going strong and I switch between my EGO clone and it when I crave an analog, or I just feel like switching it up.
I would definitely say it's as close to an analog as it gets- so much so, that I have lower nic ejuice that I use for it.
And the price can't be beat!

I can't help but imagine how many Newbies would be saved from going back to analogs if they tried this.

Seriously- think about this, Newbies. Especially if you feel like going back to analogs.
This is as close as it gets.

Yesterday, I received my DSE801HP which had claims of being 6 to 7.4volts.
I charged it overnight, and it really is STRONG. Great TH and vapor production - in fact, phenomenal vape production. Very warm vape. It's amazing.
I am wondering what's making this thing so powerful and yet nobody has tested them on a voltage meter or anything.
What's even more, it's an automatic!
Can anyone explain to this Noob how they managed it, and aside from product availability (it uses proprietary cartos and chargers, etc.) why this product never caught on?
It vapes almost exactly like an analog.
It might be perfect for some folks.
Thanks

These are nothing but a 5V ecig. Neat but I wouldn't want an auto battery.

PM me your addy and I'll send you mine. If I'm wrong, you can keep it if you can find a 5 volt double battery kit under $40.

I agree 100% with spaceOmatic! Try one and you'll say "Hey Mikey, he likes it!" Mine lasts on average about 4 hrs of light to medium vaping.

That's one of the things we're trying to sort out...
It would appear that that's the only way it could be done.
I don't want to dismember my little guy, I will when he goes, though.
