Are you looking for a tank or a dripper? (Magma is a dripper).

ETA: At the moment, angelcigs has a bunch of RDAs and RTA's on clearance, you could try several:

For tanks they have the EK (erlkonigin clone) the AC-R (squape reloaded clone) and the Venturi (Kayfun style). I like the AC-R, haven't got the other two yet (they take a couple of days to ship stuff.....)
They also have the Zero Gravity, which has both a dripper configuration and a "Dripper-tank" configuration, with the best base I've seen for a dripper-tank (most are pretty awful).

For just starting with drippers, you'll want something single-coil, and ideally something that can then do dual-coils. I generally recommend the tugboat (the steamboat is a spectacular clone of it), as you can build single coil or dual, with great flavor and solid vapor and a decent juice well.

For an RTA, the lemo/lemo drop has a nice big juice well and a big deck to build on. The kanger subtank and delta II both have a rebuildable module similar to the lemo and coils if you decide it's not for you or want the backup.

A tank would be preferable but whatever you would think is easiest for a newbie

Don't know if you saw the edit on my previous post, but the AC-R (squape reloaded clone) is very nice. Comes with 3 different bases for different wicking options. I also like the erlkonigin, but it's a bit more complicated.

I'd personally get at least one dripper. I had a few RTA's, and they worked well enough (Kayfun and Fogger v4, liked the fogger much better). Typically it's harder to secure the leads on a tank (I forgot what it was like until I borrowed someone's Lemo), the wicking can be trickier, and if anything goes wrong, you have to drain most tanks to diagnose/fix the problem, which is really obnoxious. Definitely not ideal for someone starting. It will be a trial by fire though, if you're into that :)

That, and I just like the vape from a dripper much better; there's something about tanks that's off-putting, I think it's the path the air has to take. Anyway, the Magma would probably treat you well. I got started on a trident, which is pretty barebones but also very dependable. Only 19 or 20mm, so it will look funny on a vamo.

With only 15-20 watts, you'll want to stick with 32, 30, or 28ga wire, anything lower will probably take way too long to heat up, and be of such low resistance that it will be hard to build a decent coil above the 1.2 or 1.4 ohms the Vamo needs.

One other quick question, does the magma use a 510 drip tip? The hole for it looks a little bigger then 510 in the picture and it doesn't seem to come with one

The one I got from Fasttech didn't come with a drip tip, but any old 510 will work.

I can't say for sure how many hits you'll get (wattage and coil efficiency make a big difference here, as well as not stuffing the reservoir full of wick), but I'd imagine around 1 per drop, probably 30-50 or so.
