I want a new toy. I like rebuilding the coils on my clearo's and would like to step up to a RBA tank. Im not much of a dripper but dont mind filling a small tank often. I have a couple ego twists and will be ordering a vamo with my RBA. I would like some suggestions on inexpensive RBA tanks that i can use on my devices. It doesn't need to be the best just a good solid device for now. Once i decide what i like and dont like about it i can invest in a higher dollar RBA that fits my preferences better. I want something I can get my feet wet with.
Couple questions.
Do they have tanks that accept either silica or mesh wicks?
Can these tanks be used on an ego twist if I keep it around 2ohms?
Who has the best selection on RBA tanks?
I see RBA tanks around the $20 mark on up to $150+. Are the expensive RBA's really 5-10 times better in performance? Superior enough to warrant 5-10 times the cost? Or is it a case of paying for the name and fancy design? Ive always been under the impression the RBA is only as good as the coil you build but that may only be true to a point.

Im looking at the smoktech rsst and the R-tank. Opinions?

Thanks for all the help

Your best bet would be something like the AGA-T+ or T2. Most places are getting these back in stock and they can generally be bought for a little under 30 bucks. Another cheaper option would be one of the Mini DID clones. These are usually 20 bucks or less. Most of them aren't SS like the AGAs, but they work well and are a good cheap option. Sure Vapes offers one (The Satin Vulcan) that is mostly SS and it's about 19 bucks and free shipping.

As far as the big name ones being worth several times the money...that's subjective. Performance does depend on how well you set it up. You can have a great running AGA and a crappy running ZAP. It's all down to set-up. The big difference in the high dollar ones is the build quality and materials. Are they worth 5 times as much? Not to me...YMMV. I have 4 of the SS mini DID clones with nice Pyrex tanks from IBTanked all for less than the cost of one of the high dollar ones. The quality of the Chinese knock-offs is improving and they are continuously coming up with new styles.

I have a couple highend rbas and they are beautiful. I am a believer in you get what you pay for... most of the time. Now, with that being said... I can get just as great a vape from my $20 did clone as I can my "real" did. As for quality, there's no comparison.. the top cap on the clone doesn't line up with the wick when screwed all the way down like the one from Greece. But it vapes just as good. Instead of screwing the cap on and then backing it up to line up with the wick, I press it down where I want it and that seems to be more stable than the screwing/unscrewing.

I'm now spoiled and don't want to use anything else but mesh rbas but taking them out of the house is admittedly a pain. I always take my real DID because the top cap is screwed down perfectly and that's one less thing I have to worry about.

Here's a good deal on a model.. $8 shipped. I just ordered one and plan on sanding the top cap down to see if I can get it to stay on snug so I can put it in my purse (taking care to keep it upright) without worrying that the top cap is going to come off. For $8, I couldn't resist. BUT.. I've also got a DID from mmvapors in my cart right now and I'm going back and forth over whether to hit the order button

Hey I know you posted this awhile back but...

I really, really dig the design of the AGA T2...however...

I'm looking for something just like that, but i would like it to have 2 negative posts and 1 positive post, making dual coil builds a breeze...

I don't mind doing dual coils on a single post setup, but it kind of sucks... like you said, once you get something that vapes great, you get spoiled...

Now I never build single coil setups, I only go dual coils on my nimbus, however I'm looking for something with the Nimbus design for the coils, but with a TANK.

I don't mind dripping, it's great, but while at work I'd love to have something like the Nimbus, but with a tank.... I was about ready to pull the trigger on an Ithaka - it looks so nice. But that price tag scares me, plus you have to use that funky wire that has no-resistance and positive resistance, and use a zapper or whatever to connect them...

So back to my original request of the EC community... anything like the AGA T2 but that has 3 posts total?? 1 positive / 2 negative?

Personally, after a month into RBAs, I have had no luck with my AGA T. So far, the easiest RBA tank that I have set up has been the Kayfun Lite! I really would recommend checking this out. It is a bit pricey ($110 + shipping), but it is totally solid. There are clones (The Russian 91%), but they are still around $100

My plan with the AGA T and my RSST now is to use ekowool over the mesh to get rid of the shorts and hotspots. No matter what I do with them right now, they start crapping out as soon as I put juice in them.

RSST, insulate wick hole, sealed bottom on the tank, spring for hold the positive wire and adjustable center pin, makes it the easier RBA to rebuild and no issue with shorts since the insulated holes and the mech cant touch the bottom, its a winner for me, $25 at fastteck free shipping, and you should look at the SVD instead of Vamo, far better mod and the rsst will sit flush and will look awesome.
