Has anyone here machined their own Atomizers before? I just finished my first home machined tube mod to replace my smok VV/VW when the Atomizer connector snapped off (long story) so now I kind of have this building bug! Ive seen several variations on a rebuildable dripper but havent seen anyone that has built their own from scratch.

Yes I know this post is out of place but, Ive not posted to the forum before. Ive lurked for a long time though :)

Thanks

Very cool. I was looking for a dripper so I could taste a few drops before I filled my tanks, but then I figured I should maybe just buy a Phoenix. There are only a few RBAs that have the wick and coil at the bottom, so it's my understanding those are considered the drippers, as the rest have the assembly at the top. I enjoy my Cobra RBA but it can be a labor of love sometimes. When I don't feel like fiddling or that damned burned taste when something's off, I reach for my Vapeonly BCC. I do like the bottom coils.

I would like to see what you've created!

I wanted to post pics, I just didn't have them on my work computer lol

ConChord:
yes, I borrowed the tube design from the Silver bullet in that the tube splits more towards the middle of the mod instead of making a screw on cap at the bottom, on my small lathe its almost impossible to work with a piece that long and get any precision the further away from the lathe chuck. the rest of it just kind of went along with a standard tube mod design.

Marris:
Ive been using a vivi nova tank for a while, I just cant take the muted flavor anymore so Im wanting to go back to dripping but dont want to start buying atomizers again lol. I love the ability to buy some wick and wire and wind my own. I tried the Genesis style tank and it worked well, I just hated the "airy" draw from it.

So for those who wanted pics, here they are. I'm not a master machinist by any stretch of the imagination so please keep any criticism constructive :)

the original electronics from my Smok ZMAX installed into the top tube, the end cap is epoxied onto the top tube, and there ya go. ITS ALIVE!

It actually works much better than I thought it would, I was quite proud of myself :) lol For my next one, Im going to get a DNA 20 and build around that platform. Ive heard a lot of good things about it.

Looks like you did good!
You can buy Phoenix clones for 8-10 bucks so it's hard to save money by making your own atties any more.

Thanks!

Its not about saving money to me, I just really enjoy building stuff :) I was just looking for anyone that may have already built something like a rebuildable dripper for some ideas. Ive seen the commercial ones available, so I have lots of ideas, just not a clear direction yet.
