After receiving my gear today from eBay I can confirm the following;

Sproing is a word, no matter how much autocorrect doesn't like it

Ohms law is more of a guideline than a law

Kanthal has a mind all of its own

Cotton wool will do anything you like, exempt what you want it to do

Kanthal gets hot, very hot

Tweezers should only be used by women

Silica wick is at best 'floppy'

Scissors are blunter than you hope

One trick I use when wrapping a coil around silica. Straighten out a paper clip. Hold the wire of the paperclip with the silica and wrap around both. That does 2 things. 1. It gives you a bit more rigidity. 2. It keeps you from wrapping too tight and cutting off juice flow. Now if you are rebuilding a protank type head it does one more thing for you. If you leave the clip in the coil, you can set it in the channels of the head with the silica. Then lock down the legs and remove the clip. This keeps you from yanking (or is that a yoink to go with the sproing) the head too deep into the atty.


Well done though. Really it is just practice from here on out.

Sproing is often accompanied by Dammit.

Coiled hot kanthal can leave little rings on your fingers...and not the gold kind either.

Silica wick should be outlawed, basically useless, nasty tasting stuff

I failed Scissors in kindergarten, no longer allowed to use them. Gnawing usually produces the desired results.

I just takes practice. I must of F'ed with 30 coils around silica before I got the hang of things. Then hanging them in the posts was another adventure. Eventually I got the hang of it and now it's easy. Practice, Practice, Practice.

The hot Kanthal coil does leave a very "pretty" pattern on your skin though...... makes for a good conversation starter
