Rebuilding Vivi Nova for Maximum Vapor Production

I have tried to rebuild my vivi nova using just a U wick made of 500 ss mesh, vapor was adequate. I want clouds of vapor. I don't know if it is possible, as I have only a Vision Spinner to work with right now, but the coils I wrap are only between 1.8 and 2.4 ohms. Right now the wick I made fits in the stock grooves, so I am thinking to bore out the grooves to fit a thicker wick, maybe this would improve wicking capacity and surface area and thus increase vapor? Also maybe if i wrap the ss mesh around a piece of 2mm silica, this might help? I tried the over-wick method with cotton and silica, and this just killed the vapor production for me. I also drilled out the nipple on the positive post of the atomizer head to improve air flow. Any suggestions are great appreciated, thank you.

also can i wrap the silica in the mesh and then oxidize? or should i oxidize the mesh separately. i intend on covering the silica entirely with the ss mesh (regular U wick)

I tried several times. It was a fail. Just doesn't work. One issue with uturn SS wicks is the wire just fails to contour to it.
The several I tried made little vapor and bad burn taste.
