are they suppose to be the same?

If you want to have the same vape as the original coils, the resistance of the rebuilt ones will need to be close to the same as the originals. If you're sure you have the same wire as the originals you could just use the same number of wraps and be close, but if you have different wire you would need to check it with an electrical meter or, if you have a MOD that has a resistance function, that would work of course. Also the wick may affect the juice flow to the coil if it's different.

It's the wick that goes first. I rewick the existing coil after removing the old silica and doing a dryburn.
I use 1.5-2.0mm cotton, but of course silica works too. Just untwist the wick before inserting it.

Using a 3 or 4 inch piece of thin wire like kanthal or nichrome.
Fold it in half and twist the 2 loose ends together.
If you are shooting for the 2mil. wick, place a couple inches(or 3) of 1mil in the loop left in the wire,
so the wick is of equal length on both sides.
Then push the twisted end of the wire through the coil and gently pull the wick through halfway.
Take the wire out of the wick by cutting the wick or undoing the twisted wire.

You'll need to do a resistance check before firing it up or it "could" fry a battery.

I've had single coils last for months by just replacing the wick every week or two.YMMV.
