Hi guys,
So this is my first post and I'd like to introduce myself. My names Mike, I'm 35 and from Colorado. I'm a new member (have been reading ECF threads for a long time) and also new to diy. I've been vaping for a couple years now, but never had the time to get into diy.

I ordered a bunch of 6 ml flavors from Azure vaping (formerly Bluemist) and they all have packaged dates on them. Most are recent, but 2 are a year old, and 1 is almost 2 years old. Is this normal? Are they still good? Should I get a hold of them and ask for replacements?

I started DIY'ing my juice about 6 months after I switched... so that was 4 1/2 years ago. I say try 'em. I just mixed up some flavors the other day that I know for a fact are at LEAST two years old, because that's how long they've been sitting in my kit, and they taste and vape just fine.

If the 'freshness' worries you, just keep in mind that there are absolutely no long-term studies about the health effects of inhaling food additives (which is basically what all of these flavorings are), new or old.

If it's a huge amount of liquid, like a few years worth, I'd send 'em back... but if it's just a 30ml bottle, I'd try 'em out. Can't be worse for you than tobacco, right? I have noticed that once flavor is mixed up with nic & base liquid, there's a definite shelf-life. I've found juice that I mixed a year earlier & lost, and found the flavor to be sorely lacking (or just "off"), but the flavors by themselves seem to keep quite well.

Thanks for the replies . Sir I used a few of the sites you listed. I used wizard labs, rts vapes, and my freedom smokes. I got flavors from TFA, Cap, and FA.

Thanks hiram. I'll give them a try when the rest of my packages come.

Also, I'm sure there's already a thread about it, but My Freedom Smokes has a sale on nic. They have a one liter of 100mg/ml on sale for $50. The reviews I read here on ECF all said good things about their nic.

Hi mikey and welcome to posting on ECF :)

This is my opinion only.

I've been making my own juices for a couple of years now, but my flavoring bottles don't have dates on them so I start the clock when I buy them. IMO if the flavoring is not an extract and is not organic it should be good for at least three years and maybe quite a bit longer. If there is anything in it flavoring wise that was grown I hold at one year but I get cautious after they get over six months old. I had a bottle of concentrated lemon extract that got to be a year old which I just finished off. I was starting to wonder about that one, but I use it at around one drop per 10 ml of juice and it was OK for me to the end at that concentration. I would not have used it longer though.

If I received non-organic flavorings that were one year old I would talk to the supplier and see what they say. At two years old, I would consider that a mistake from their end and ask them to fix it for me. If it was organic product I would expect it to be less than a month or two old. I am replacing my lemon extract with an artificial flavoring this time and will not buy any more organics.
