This has been ongoing for a long time. Unfortunately I was hit 3 times with this last year and posted my frustrations in another thread. The very best advice I got was to get a Paypal debit card. I've never had a problem since. There are no restrictions on ecig purchase (like when using your Paypal account directly) plus every time you use it a receipt is emailed to you immediately. There are no costs associated with the card and you can set minimum amounts if you like. It's my online "go to" card of choice for ANY purchase now :)

It's worth a look see if you have a Paypal account and dont want to spend money loading pre-paid cards. It's been a great tool for me. I hope this was as helpful to someone else as it was for me.

btw: I only order from both rawr and litecig......I've never had a problem yet. Both vendors are top notch in my book.... I believe the problem lies with hacked credit card processing agencies. Not the vendors.

Yeah Im sure it isnt the vendors either. Processing companies are most likely to blame for the leaks. good idea on the pp debit. I have one never thought I could use it for that, lol

Hey guys, just a heads up. I was the victim of Online Credit Card Fraud from an online transaction this weekend. Luckily, I didn't have the amount of money that someone in Slovakia wanted to steal from me, so my bank declined it and cancelled my card. The only companies I ordered from were RAWR and Backwoods Brew last weekend, and Litecig and RTS Vapes this weekend. So if you ordered from any of these companies recently, Keep an eye out. I think I heard something about RAWR having trouble, but I figured I'd list all of my transactions. You know, as civil duty?

Seriously? Slovakia?! Were they funding a hockey team on my card?!

Finally got an email back from one of the vendors. He stated that it must be viruses on our computers.
Whatever!
I always use a secure computer. That is just nonsense. And so many of us got hit. Very disappointed.

Bear in mind this is likely the fault of one of the card companies or the processor. None of the ecig companies i have ever bought from store CC numbers. They never even actually touch them. It goes from you to the processor via the ssl gateway. Unless their store dosent have SSL which should always be something checked before entering CC info.

I would vote for processor since both my Chase and my Discover cards were hit. Many people here are stating that they made purchases from BWB and AVE. I have not yet purchased anything from BWB but I do make frequent purchases from AVE. I believe I have used both my Discover and Chase cards there.

thanks for the bluebird suggestion b0red.
I was using a HORRIBLE prepaid card, I think its called greendot?
Ridiculous. They just about charge you for everything they possibly can.
Its something like 5 or 10 dollars to actually buy the card from your gas station.
Then its 5 dollars every time you want to add money to the card. Every time.
Doesn't matter if you only need to put 5 dollars on it, you have to pay them 5 dollars to do that.
Then on top of that, as long as you have 5 or more dollars on the card, they take 5 dollars each month.
If you load the card with 10 dollars, you need 15 bucks just to load it.
and if you don't use the 10 in 2 months your back to $0. I hate greendot with a passion and dont recommend.

I'm going to research this bluebird some more. I need a checking account.

Wow!! Now you all have me worried! I tried placing an order through Hoosier yesterday morning and it kept getting stuck on processing...so called them and wast old they were having issues with CC purchases, that they couldn't even do call in orders,b ut had someone working on it, and to try again later in the afternoon. Kept going back to their site and they had put a big banner on their site telling of not being able to process CC orders at the moment. Late yesterday afternoon, that banner was gone from their site and I was able to place my order...now I'm worried since someone said this is where their fraud charges came from. Sure hope I'm OK on that front!!

Wow! I reluctantly join the club. But if it wasn't for this thread I wouldn't have known until who knows when. Checked my account online and found 2 bogus charges from a major online retailer that I have never purchased from, totaling about $1050. Called my card company and a new card with a new number is on the way.

In the past few months I have ordered from at least a dozen different e-cig and juice vendors. Only other places I have used this card are Amazon and the US Post Office, so ...

One thing I did figure out to do is to have my card company send me a text message every time my card gets charged. But while I wait for the new card I guess I'm going cold turkey on the vaping toys. Good thing I've got plenty of batteries and juice!

Happened to my debit card like 3 weeks ago, luckily they didn't get anything cuz i keep it for online purchases and make sure to always have less than $100 in there at all times - they spent $1 to test the account and then went for the big amounts which got denied.

I only ever order from hoosier, aquavapor and ecigexpress - got a new card and have so far ordered from aqv and ecx and no issues...yet...checking online statement every day though and I use paypal w/ liberty flights whenever possible. Hopefully sun vapers is secure cuz I just ordered from them but I think the problem was hoosier in this case. We'll see if it happens again, if it does I'm sticking to paypal.

Reposting from another thread on the same topic:

I just reported my card after seeing a $244 charge to Sprint Wireless. I don't have Sprint. The card I used is a small one not related to my other banking stuff. I use it just for online purchases and an occasional tank of gas so luckily I could cancel it without a hassle.

I recently purchased from several vendors including Alien Visions, Mountain Oak Vapor, Mt. Baker Vaper and Sweet-Vapes. I also used that card to buy from MadVapes earlier last month. I would assume it was from the AV charge, but I thought I'd post them all in case it rings a bell for anyone else.

btw: what a time to go on a juice sampling spree, eh?
