Hi,

I'm a newbie and apologize if I'm posting this in the wrong place. It's a bit overwhelming as I'm navigating around and trying to set things up accordingly.

I recently purchased a joyetech EGO-T (Type A) kit (Matte Black)

I also purchased a plastic drip tip and Vision EgO low resistance clear-o-mizer and am using this because I like the transparent look and seeing the liquid in the tank. It's fun to smoke out of this.

I have the RY4 Liquid - 11 mg Low which I like. It tastes and smells like cotton candy.

After smoking this 4 days or so I've noticed that my tongue feels as though it's scalded (sensation like I burnt my tongue on hot coffee or soup). I thought this would subside, but I'm still feeling those sensations. I'm also experiencing a bit of pain in the back of my throat when I breathe in. Nothing that sends me over the edge, but again, I noticed these things.

I've cut back on smoking this, but actually miss it and when I think I'm feeling up to continuing to smoke and do so, I start feeling those sensations again.

Real cigarettes (I smoke lights) have never caused any of these sensations.

At this point, I'm thinking about contacting customer service to let them know and see if they have any suggestions and/or just returning it all together.

Has anyone else experienced these sensations with this particular e-cigarette???

I've also tried the blu e-cigarette and had the throat sensations and discontinued that and gave it to a friend who loves it.

I'm thinking that this e-cigarette (no matter which brand) just doesn't work for me.

Any suggestions or comments would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you! :)

Hi, I use a similar set up, but i use type B, heard that it leeks less, either way, i have completely quit cigarettes, i have noticed that I have lots of phlegm, not sure if i am sick (everyone else in my house is) also, my throat is sore. Also, what is the pg vg ratio on your liquid? I use 50 50, I am pretty sure that is what is causing your discomfort. Also drink water!!! Hope this helps, you are not alone, especailly not here, holy cow this forum is huge!

Hi Tiffany! :)

Thanks for responding back so fast. I believe the RY4 liquid I'm using is 11 mg. This is my first time using this thing and one of my friends who is using the same unit suggested it. I'm wondering if it's too strong for me.

Not to sound stupid, but there's so much liquid and it's overwhelming. I think I need to go down to a lower dosage (so to speak) I see there is 0 mg and 6 mg. I wonder if that would help...

I may call customer service and explain what's been happening and hope they would honor the return and give me a lower ml in return.

And yes, this forum is HUUUUUUGE...

Thanks again!
:)

I kind of know what you mean in regards to your tongue. Mine has the same sensation.....hard to explain...like sandpaperyish... weird feeling. It's not unbearable, just weird. I'm just doing a wait and see with it as it is not painful, just weird. The sore throat, high nic will make the throat sore. You could just hold the vapor in your mouth and exhale through your nose. That way it won't go into the throat or the lungs and you still absorb the nic. I am going to try drinking even more water, I know I don't drink nearly enough even before finding vaping. Keep us posted.

I don't have the tongue thing but as of late, my throat has been dry and scratchy. I have been trying to drink more h20 but probably not enough. My nic level is 18mg and my juice is 50/50 PG/VG. I have read on ECF threads before that PG along with certain types of flavorings can cause throat irritation in some people and others are downright allergic to PG. You may want to ask your vender about the composition of your liquid and try something different.

I've had the funny mouth-tongue feel off and on since I started vaping only- I did smoke analogs for a while while i was finding what attachments worked best for me with my Egos. (Clearomizers and DCT tanks) For me it mainly happens when I switch flavors or strengths of nicotines. I go back and forth between 10-12mg to 18-24 mg. I found that PG makes my throat sore, my chest hurt, and gives me a headache, so I'm strictly VG juice. The other thing I found that seemed to help (it sounds weird) is drink a little milk. I guess it coats things. Went to the cardiologist today for a check up and told him that I had finally quit smoking but was using an ecig and he said he thinks the ecigs are great! Good luck and hope this helps. Or at least eases your mind some. :)

Hi Scorp,

I'm a 3 week old vaper as well and am using a very similar setup (until some new gear arrives like ego twist batteries and such). I also noticed the same thing to a certain degree. The advice to drink water is great, but I also find that with clearomizers it's wise to twirl it around in your hand but ensure you point the unit down when vaping! Otherwise it gets hotter, with more condensation & leaking.

Don't consider me an expert though :) Maybe the low resistance is making things too hot? I have no idea what resistance my clearomizer is at. To a certain degree my issues with throat and mouth have gone away.. maybe it's like building guitar finger callouses!
