Recharge four year old 510 battery / conditioning cycle required?

I just returned to vaping after a four year hiatus. I originally bought a 510. As I had the charger and attys, I recently purchase a couple more 510 batteries.

I followed the recommended 8 hour conditioning charge cycle on the new 510 batteries, followed by a 20 minute vape, then an additional hour of charging, and they last quite awhile. The original 510 batteries only last about 10 minutes though. I never charged them more than a couple dozen times.

My question is: If my original 510 batteries have been sitting idle for four years, would I need to do a conditioning cycle again? Thanks for any advice.

Yes. Just for the heck of it, I tried a reconditioning cycle on it, and it is now completely dead. Weird - I only used them initially for a few weeks. I thought there would be more life left in them, but perhaps letting them sit for so long killed them.
