Recommendation for newer KangerTech

I suspect KangerTech is phasing out the T3S because it is difficult to find a KangerTech genuine replacement coil for it. I have ordered coils from two places, including one place recommended by this forum. Prices vary wildly. The performance of the one I have has declined seriously from the beginning (even after cleaning) with what I came to understand were counterfeit replacement coils provided in both orders. Because of that, I would like members' recommendations for a newer KangerTech model, whose replacement coils will be more likely to be genuine KangerTech parts. Rebuilding is not in my set of skills, and I live in an isolated area, so I must buy via the Internet. I know there are MANY KangerTech models but honestly, they just confuse me so I don't know which to pick. I have read many opinions. I love the one I have but I must move on. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

sunvapers.com is an authorized Kanget tech dealer with reasonable pricing. You can try them out. I would recommend a Kanger Evod, or a Mini Protank II if you want to replace the T3s. Further, I may be mistaken on this, but I believe you can use Kanger's Protank/Evod heads on all their bottom coil clearo models, including the T3s.

Also, what may be affecting vape quality are what resistance the coils are. If you buy too high of a resistance for the type of battery you are using, you won't get as good of a throat hit as you would for a lower resistance coil. The resistance is called ohms. If you are using a standard, ego type battery without a variable voltage option, you may do better with lower resistance coils. Like 1.5 ohms, or 1.8 ohms...

I was going to recommend Sun Vapers as well, Edward (the owner) works closely with Kanger and came up with the idea of the Protank. Unfortunately, Protank/EVOD heads aren't compatible with the T series.

In reply to The Ocelot,
"Hi

What is it you love about the ones you have? That might give us an idea of what to suggest, rather than throwing model numbers at you. "

The T3S is relatively simple to use, easy to fill, it doesn't leak (the major reason I changed to it from the CE5; it was recommended by the vendor I use/used in AZ), and it HAD great vapor production when I first bought it, before I got all of these counterfeit coils. Now the pull (inhale) on it is nowhere near as easy as it was, not as much vapor despite repeated cleanings. It must be the coils...

I've also had problems with it and my batteries. It caused both of them to quit working or work intermittently, until I read something about the center post getting squashed. I took care of that and they are OK now. That is particularly strange.

I bought another T3S recently with "matching" coils so perhaps I will have better results. We will see. The one I am using now is nowhere near as good as it used to be when I bought it, in spite of repeated cleanings. The choices in the new buy were 1.8 and 2.something. I got the 1.8, both the coil and the clearomizer matched. Unfortunately, the coils I received were counterfeit.

Perhaps the problem is what you mentioned....I am at the mercy of the dealers. My first buy of the coils (from the place that recommended them in AZ), there was not even a mention of coil resistance. Thanks for your expertise.

I looked on Sunvapers' site and they look very good. Thanks to both of you, Ocelot and Tinkiegrrl. One of these days I'll get all of this terminology straight. I will try the EVOD first, although I wonder with all of the talk of variable voltage batteries if it would be good to try one of those for improved performance. The ones I have now are not variable, but according to my reseller are "standard eGo".

I am just so glad I use ecigs and don't smoke any more. Thanks everyone for your input to this relative newcomer, although I have been using an ecig for over a year.

From what I see, the T3S uses the standard Protank/Evod coil. Should be absolutely no issue in getting those.

Not quite true. The Protank/EVOD will accept a T3s coil (YMMV-some report leaking/other problems doing this), but the T3 will certainly not take an EVOD coil. I have both, the EVOD/Protank coil head replacement has a very slightly wider flange on the bottom. Just wide enough that it cannot be assembled into the base and tank of a T3s all the way.

Both of the T3S coil packages I bought, from both resellers, were completely unmarked white boxes, and the aluminum foil/plastic packages were not marked. I watched videos at various times from I think Santa Clara Vapors and others on how clean, refill, etc a T3S, and also how to tell whether Kanger coils are fake. I have also learned that since the boxes and products are completely unmarked, they are probably fakes. I ran across some comment somewhere....that there is a mark on the Kanger products that identifies them absolutely as Kanger, other than the "KangerTech" marking on the side of the T3S. I wish I could find that comment again.

This is all very disturbing. I am willing to pay a premium for a good product, if I get the genuine article, consistently.

If I understand your post correctly you want a Kanger product that is easier to get replacement coils for. EVOD, Protank 1/2, Protank Mini and Unitank all take the same coils. The T3S coils will fit all the models I just mentioned, but the coils that fit the EVOD and it's "coil family" will not fit in the T3S.
You'll probably have better luck finding coils if you switch to the EVOD family.

Thank you, Shedit. I will keep that in mind as I order. Very helpful.

I like my Evod as well, of course I am new to Vaping and it was recommended to me, so it's the only one I have tried....but I love it, it gives me just what I need!

I currently use the evod and I love the quiet pull it has when I inhale. They come in a variety of colors and coils are easy to get and replace. I'd definitely recommend trying one to any vaper out there. I'm gonna upgrade to the protank 3 tomorrow to see how that works out.

Try DiscountVapers.com they're very reputable and carry the 5 packs of genuine heads (I have verified authenticity independently with KangerTech on the ProTank heads, which look to be the same as the T3S heads) for about $6. Very fast shipping and a great site all around.

If you want to change tanks but keep the same basic style, I would go with the EVOD or ProTank 2 mini from that site as well. You'll be sure to get genuine parts.

Since the end of May, genuine Kanger coils (for the ProTank anyway) have their resistance stamped at the very bottom, below the threads but above the insulator.

The EVOD I keep hearing about alot, and sounds like a good solid buy; however, you might want to try the mini protank and get away from the plastic.

I'm afraid the pull (inhale) is a general problem all over on most of these devices still; they have been designed tight to start with so it's easy for them to get too tight with use;
