Hello im looking for a rda, I have had a shop around and I have narrowed it down to a few, the tobh atty, plume veil, magma and the dark horse dripper. I am more leaning towards the tobh atty as personally it looks the more simple to build on. I will be trying to build .5 ohm coils as that's what im using at the moment (aspire Atlantis) could you give me any advice/recommendations?

No experience with the Veritas but I love the Magma. Sounds like it would suit you well. I have the infinite/SXK clone which is pretty much 1:1 and works flawlessly!
The magma has excellent flavor and is fairly easy to build on. Should be in any collection if you value a flavorful vape 
The tobh limits you to dual coil. There's no way to set up the airflow for single coil only.
Check out the tugboat and hobo. The hobo is by far the easiest to build on.

Plume veil all day. Big deck easy build. Great flavor awesome airflow. My plume veil is my go to for flavor.
This will be your first RDA, but it won't be your last. Guaranteed. The Origen V2 was my first, and still gives way better flavor over the 15 others I have (including all you listed). Plenty of vapor. The caveat is that it's a restricted airflow - lots of people don't like that, but I absolutely love it.
The RDAs you listed are all solid choices. TOBH is a good all-rounder, but as above, dual coil only (unless you tape one side). Magma is great for flavor. Darkhorse is a cloud machine. Plumeveil is the Swiss Army Knife of RDAs - may or may not be idea for your first, but it gives you lots of options to play with.

How about a reasonably priced well made authentic like Beyondvape's Mako.
