I am about to make a 5V mod and I’m what atty resistances I should be shooting for. My current setup is 3.7V with 1.5 ohm. By my calculation that gives me around 9.2 Watts. I like the vapor production but wouldn’t mind a bit more.

I was thinking about getting a 2.2 ohm for my 5V box. That calculates to 11.36 Watts. Would that be too much? If I can find something 2.5 ohms that would give me 10 Watts, would that be better? Am I thinking too much here?

All advice is appreciated!

I don't think you're over thinking at all - in fact, you're on the right path - wattage is everything, imo. However there is a trade off - higher wattage will get you more vapor and more burned out atomizers and depending on the flavors - burned out or even non-existent flavors. The wattage max for my flavors - fairly strong Decadent Vapours Habana Reserve, Absinthe, Real Tabs is around 8.5 Watts - over that, I start losing flavor.

Experienced drippers who know not to take too long of draws and detect flavor drops almost immediately - can vape in the 10+W range, but if you're going to use a cartridge, cartomizer or tank, I'd advise staying in the 8-9W range.

When I had a 5 volt mod, my best ohm for that was 3.4 - nhalers 'mega 510' (not like TW's megas). And I would burn out regular 2.1-2.2Ω 510 attys on the 5volt.
