First off, hello! I'm Melanie from St. Louis and have been vaping a month or so (ego-c). Haven't had one analog since! I've lurked here a while now for info, but finally came out of hiding because I couldn't find the answer to my question. It's probably out there, but I haven't found it from searching.

I've seen quite a few posts on dead taste buds, and it hit me about four days ago. Does it gradually come back or does it come back suddenly? I *think* that I'm gaining a bit of it back, but am really really looking forward to this passing. I've been drinking lots of water, have switched flavors several times a day since I started, using fresh attys & strong flavors, cutting back on vaping a bit, and following all of the suggestions talked about here. It got to where I couldn't taste double-flavored atomic fireball! :(

Anyway, how does the recovery process go for most folks?

Much appreciated and glad to be here!

I find that if I spend around a half a day on unflavored juice, I am fine- tasting is pretty much back to normal. Unflavored is actually a lightly sweet flavor, so not "tasteless". This could be a problem if you don't diy, but a sympathetic vendor might send you some cheap with another order. I have heard some folks say they get results using peppermint vapes, too. I also would like to note that the unflavored seems to grant extra life to cartos that were getting weak, sorta revives them a bit. Good luck! :)

Thanks for the replies, everyone! I think it has improved a bit even from since last night. It figures that my taste buds took a vacation just as a big shipment of new juices came in, was such a bummer! I had played around with maybe 3 of them before it happened. Such a weird phenomenon for juices to taste amazing one day & like wet air the next day. Luckily I am one that just enjoys nicotine and have never felt addicted to it, so it isn't a huge deal for me to cut way back on vaping to let my buds rest. I think that helped the most, just dropping it to almost nothing for day and guzzling water.

I also found it funny that when I started I was wondering why a smoker would want to taste anything else in an e-cig but tobacco, but it took me less than a week to be hitting the cookies, desserts & candy hard!

36tinybells, knowing my personality & quick addiction to hobbies, I'm going to stay far away from diy! It sounds like so much fun, though.

I also like unflavored...it is actually one of my daily vapes :) sometimes I'll add a few drops of menthol or a few drops of a liquid I have that is too strong for me
