Wow, I just noticed in the tag line someone put in "Expensive". I think that is a side affect of being a perfectionist. I never strive to make a cheaper, crappier and more run of the mill mod for people, perhaps some people wish I would but I just can't force myself to do it. Best I can do is offer another little discount code for what I hope is already competitive prices on RSM's

"BOOTY" coupon code will from now on get you 5% off any and all purchases from the website.

That's kinda Bull .... if ya ask me... If you don't like the price, go away, don't tag the mans thread... Assclowns need to get a damn life... You shouldn't have to offer a discount to please some jackoff... Okay done ranting, sorry cappy...

Oh and If you can't afford a new one, sit around and try and win one like me :)

for what you get, and rsm is not expensive, i should know, i own three and have had 2 or three others. since i have started using them, i have gotten few other mods, i cant say i dont appreciate a new coupon code for discounts as i am a broke college student almost in my thirties, but i would never say they needed one. as soon as i get my student loans in august, ill prolly buy another! haha
anyways, by no means are your mods expensive especially by the price of other wood mods!

The cost and relative to the object, the RSM are luxury Mods and their cost and quality they have.

Many other items in circulation have high costs and are not equally valid, do not have personality and are complex to use

thinks of those who pay hundreds of dollars for ggts, stuff that until recently was piled in a corner of a garage waiting to be brought by "straccino" ..

Ahoy, good afternoon everyone, another day in the mines!

Oh, I have to agree in part, I personally could not afford to pay for one of my own mods! I can't afford anyone else's either, I guess that must mean I am pricing them pretty good, I can pay my share of bills, buy new parts, materials, wood and supplies and still have 50 bucks left in my pocket at the end of a batch so I think I am right on the money price-wise.

I am going to be gone for part of the day today, I am picking up the Commodore from the VA hospital up in Tampa in a little while. Hopefully this will be her last stay in the hospital (she's been in and out 5 times in the last 4 months), they performed a surgical procedure on her that should fix her crones problem and she is feeling better already, so were all pretty happy here today :)

Arrr, off I go!

Cappy...you know your devotee's will always cherish another one of your wonderful...and might I add....price appropriate WOOD mods!!
loveshower.gif
Although I LOVE to see someone who hasn't yet had the opportunity to own and try one of your mods out yet, win one...what is REALLY REALLY disheartening for me to see is it ending up in the classifieds as soon or very shortly after it has been received (especially when they have the nerve to state "just received, never used)! There are so many who are new to vaping and would love to be able to progress to a more unique, well made, and better performing pv and the opportunity to WIN one is just the icing on the cake for these people. Unfortunately tho...you never know who is in it to win it...or in it to sell it for a profit :( Ok...rant over

On a lighter note....glad to hear that the Commodore will be getting better soon.

I thought she was all done with hospitals, but if they are finally helping her instead of passing the buck on to a different doctor all the time...then its all good! Please give her well wishes from us all Cappy!

well, the contests have never seemed to help that much in sales, I seldom see the person who wins one again, but the best and biggest reason I have contests is, when I can afford it I like to give stuff away and make people happy, even if only for a little while. Also adds a bit of excitement to my normal routine.

I would like to do a contest like this just for RSM owners as a way of saying "Thanks!", arrr

i use only these things, mega patriot (left) pharaon (right) simple, russian home made
the bottle with the needle drops out fine you do not flood the atom and fills up to 20 and beyond without having to reload
only drip, just drip :vapor:
go well in mark7 too, even bigger, but be careful that heat and are close to the batteries

I am sooooo excited!!! I can't wait to get this Destroyer. In the last 3-4 months I've bought 10+ mods easy, but they've all been from the classies or private transactions so basically all used, even if they were in like new condition. This will be my first NEW mod in a looonnggg time. Did I say I was excited??? :D
Dude you are gonna be so happy with your purchase. I won a Destroyer a couple weeks ago and it totally replaced my everyday PV.

I like the rockin' Silver Surfer juice holder

So Cappy, any plans to put a DNA into some of your new mods?

I agree with most others that the price is very fair IMHO. I own one and my mom owns one and neither of us would part with ours for much of anything. My mom's is her only PV and the only one I have had her try that she likes (and she has tried quite a bit). Mine gets used daily and while I wont way it is my only mod it is still one of my favorites. That said I must say thank you Cappy for your hard work bringing great dependable beautiful mods to the market!!

Ahoy, I'm back :)

Great question! I have looked at them and the Kick and DNA have their uses, especially the Kick which enables a non-vv mod to get regulated power. The RSM is already designed around another regulator board that easily outperforms either of those boards and costs $10 to $25 dollars less which saves you money too as it has been on the market a long time and is made by a high volume manufacturer. There is no logical reason I would switch at this time that I can see. If I really needed a smaller board I would consider them, but not as it stands.

DE-SWADJ3 $23.99 by Dimension Engineering
http://www.dimensionengineering.com/datasheets/DE-SWADJ3.pdf

Outputs any voltage between 3v and 13v
Adjustment is by a 25-turn potentiometer
5 to 35V input voltage
Up to 25W output power
3A continuous output current
Efficiency up to 96%
Integrated bypass capacitors

I had considered enabling the Mark-9 Cruiser ($135) to take the Kick, but really, for the $45 dollar kick I can add a DE-SWADJ3 and voltage display and sell it for $5 less than a cruiser + kick (the Destroyer/Wench/Dread all sell for $175 base price).

Oh yes, while constant wattage is a factor, I've never noticed any more voltage drop than 1/10th of a volt (.05v-.1v), which in my opinion is not worth worrying about.

My "published" thoughts on your mods...

"Seamless fit and finish, cuts that are clean, precise, and sharp…well balanced, and vapes awesome…the attention to detail goes above and beyond. It’s just as satisfying (almost), looking at it as vaping it. Though this mod is the priciest of my others, it is by far one of my favorites."

"I really can’t stress this enough…if you are a perfectionist, the Red Sky Mods will have you smiling with every vape knowing you are in possession of a variable voltage wood PV constructed with the highest quality, craftsmanship, and attention to detail that I’ve seen to date."

This was back in December...after my first purchase of your Destroyer. Unfortunately, I had to sell that one to fund more reviews (not at a profit)...BUT, I always knew when I could, I would be purchasing another...which I did...AND, I'm purchasing yet another! So I will have two in my permanent stables.

I have vaped many more mods since that time, I STILL feel the construction & beauty of RSM mods more than justifies the cost.

My thoughts and prayers go out to Commodore.

I agree with all the points you made. I do not personally know the spec comparisons between the boards, so I'll take your word for how they match up. I think some of the DNA's appeal is geared towards those DIY modders out there, for the sake of ease. I just got a DNA in the mail but am waiting on some batts and a USB circuit to arrive before putting anything together. I'm excited to see more and more RSM's come out, and lurk around here catching up on the thread every couple days though I rarely post.

Keep up the great work Cap! :toast:
