My mom and Step dad found this little doe in their yard. She has a broken leg. Her mamma couldn't find her. So they picked her up and took her up to their home and called a deer rescue place. They came and picked the little one up.
The next day mamma was back looking for her little baby .
The day my mom found the little one she couldn't stop crying. I tried to calm her down, saying it was meant to be this way. If they wouldn't have found her, she more then likely would have suffered and starved or another animal would have gotten to her. With you finding the little one, you saved the little ones life .

Aww.. I'm sensitive, but frankly not as tender hearted as your mom. Actually thank goodness! You are right, she did the right thing and overall nothing else to do.

I will say one time quail buried their eggs in the little dog's yard. They all hatched. Little dog apparently considers this his desert delicacy and he just ran around CHOMPING all the babies which look like a tiny puff of feathers, long legs and tiny beak.

Mommy quail cried/called for her kiddos for DAYS. It was pretty sad.

Your mom will get over it eventually and the good news is, neither DIED.
