Hello,
after several weeks of using a Neo+ Puromizer from Janty, I became really annoyed by two things. One is that, after refilling, I would get a lot of leakage from the plastic window opposite to the filling hole. The other is that I was getting a considerable amount of juice coming out of the mouthpiece and into my mouth. After reading a bit online, it seems to be a fairly common problem with this device. Here's my 2 cents on how I reduced this problems (and virtually eliminated them).
Leak from the window
The plastic window is actually just a part of the plastic barrel that shows up from a long hole in the metal casing of the puromizer. This plastic barrel fits really tightly inside the casing, but there is a microscopic space between the walls of the two. Now, when you refill, it is easy to get some very small amount of juice out of the hole and around it. Due to a physical phenomenon known as capillarity, this juice will tend to seep into the micro space between the plastic barrel and the metal casing. Eventually, some of it will end up coming out at the borders of the plastic window. That's when you feel the puromizer is wet on the outside.
How to avoid the problem: use a syringe, or a bottle with a very small nozzle when refilling the pureomizer, and be careful not to leave any liquid outside the hole. Wipe the refilling hole immediately after refilling. Also, always avoid overfilling. By using a syringe & needle to fill, this problem has all but disappeared, and it only reappears when I try to fill with a bottle having a wide nozzle.
Condensation in the mouthpiece
The juice coming out of the mouthpiece is actually the result of condensation rather than leaks. When you draw vapour, some of it will remain in the empty space inside the mouthpiece. There's a fair amount of empty space in it, as you can see by removing it.
How to avoid the problem: change your drawing habits. You need to draw the leftover vapour out before it cools down and condensates. I draw like this:
- press the button about 1 sec before I start drawing
- draw normally
- release the button about 1 sec before I end drawing
By releasing the button early, the last second of your draw is going to remove the leftover vapour. Now, since this effectively means your atty is going to burn for 1 second less, it is useful to pre-heat it by pressing one second earlier at the beginning, so the vapour amount is still reasonable.
It can also help to give a quick "post-draw" after you exhale your vape. Sometimes, a very small amount of vapour might still be there.
Using these two strategies, I have been vaping with no juice on my hands or in my mouth for the last couple of days. It takes a while to establish the good reflexes though, I still have to think about it. I believe I should be used to it by the end of this week.
Hope this works for other Neo+ users out there. Cheers!
