Tried cartos for the 1st time a few days ago. Something about the flavor was just, not there.

I've been using a 510 atty system(on several different mods at different voltages) for almost a year now(10 months+). With the spring mod, I can get up to 2 hours full flavor/full vapor vaping on a single filled 510 cart, with no "burning sensation" at all until the very last few inhales. Making the spring mod takes about 3 minutes and a requires a normal 510 cart, a spring from a 10 cent pen and a tiny wad of polyfill. You can re-use the same spring mod cart(as long as you don't abuse it) indefinitely. Refilling the spring mod cart takes about 20 seconds.

In 10 months I've had only 2 regular atty's "burn out". Recently, low Resistance 510 atty's have come to market, somewhat revolutionizing 3.7 Volt vaping. I've purchased three LR 510 atty's about 5 weeks ago and am still on my 1st(fingers crossed).

It seems to me that , with the correct, simple cart modification, a 510(or any other standard 3 piece cart system) can provide comparable vaping time, as compared to carto's, without unwanted flavor deterioration or tricky refilling technique. Also, an atomizer's lifespan greatly exceeds a carto's, which may become a very pertinent factor in the future if hardware importation becomes difficult due to legal issues.

3 Drops?

I fill a large cap to 3/4s full... I couldn't imagine 3 drops... That would last you all of 3 minutes?

Dohhh... I meant to type "15" drops which comes out to about a half a condom. I've since left cartos alone since I found the HighPoint mod for carts though. Not quite the 35 drops, but cheaper than cartos.

I started with a three piece, not that it was a great model, nor was it a wonderful representation of it's breed, but hohum.

I bought a VK as my second shot with vaporizers, and I'll never switch. On the subjective end, the model is perfect for me, utterly and completely, from hit to flavor, thanks largely to the supplier's seemingly infinite array of juices. I love me some cartos :)

It's funny but I was a Roll Your Own man for the last few years before I found e-cigs. No matter which way I turn it will be much less work than that. I think I will just keep on drippin. I have it down, it's not a mess and it tasts great, plus I can get rid of the bridge and drip straight on to the coil. It makes changing flavors so much better and it seems a little warmer as well. To me it's just super easy and works the best. I have tried both of the others and various mods, it's still a pain compared to dripping.

I'm glad to see that there are many solutions. I guess if I drove much I might need a different solution. Half the time I'm stovepiping it as well, so I get just amazing TH and vapor. 60/40 pg/vg at 24mg is my sweet spot. I run my business from my computer at home so I use a PT 5 volts without the battery. When I'm out and about I take four 510's and my favorite couple of liquids. I make sure the batteries are all full up and away I go.

Ive tried several cart mods... and they all end with tasting poly fill.

I want to give carto's a shot, but i will not until i can be certain the "burning/charrig" issue has been resolved..

I did see a vid on youtube yesterday, a guy was using a Kr80++ carto.. he pulled the entired "filling" out and was then filling it full of juice and vaping away... this might be something to look into for me.....

Until then.. I will continue Direct Dripping my eGo.... And on that note: Friends Dont Let Friends Drip And Drive... just saying...

Edited: Poster Below me has been gracious enough to find the link to the vid that i was referring to.

I love Cartos! Changed E-cigs for me. I just had bad luck with my 510 attys. Also I have not had a single 510 carto burn on me yet so knock on wood. And with Dogs Carto Mod my cartos end up lasting longer than my old attys did.

If ur looking for great flavor, better throat hit and long lasting cartos try this method when u cant refill ur cartos anymore.

Tip..Dogs mod is easier to do for the KR808 but I do use it with the 510 cartos too. And putting a little water on the stuffing to get it wet makes it easier to remove from the carto.

I'm still a bit of a noob having been doing this only since the middle of March. But using a 510 (now eGo) I've been through a couple of cart mod evolutions. The ptb mod was a very definite improvement over the stock polyester filler. Then I moved to the highping mod. That was even better. Then I broke down and got my first blank cartomizers 3 days ago.

I guess you could probably classify me a heavy vaper. I'm also on the road a lot and don't have time for messing around with dripping or refilling no matter how good the cart mod. After 3 days of use I think you could call me a cartomizer guy. Unless my cartomizers start dying premature deaths en mass I think I'm going to remain a cartomizer guy. Using the condom fill method I get a few hours out of each before they degrade to the point of needing a refill. So far I've gotten 2 to 3 day use out of each before feeling like I needed to clean them. In 3 days time I've only rotated between 2 of them. I cleaned the 1st yesterday afternoon and just cleaned the second a few minutes ago. The 3rd is filled and ready to go but I've not used it yet. I've got 15 more headed my way after my initial 2 days of use.

Yes, I think I'm going to be a cartomizer guy.

I started vaping a month ago. Started with carotmizers. No other experience to compare them to except for analogs. So far I am happy with the cartomizers. Just seemed easier to deal with than the three piece. On a side note I was able to make a decently informed decision when purchasing my first PV due completely to this forum. So a very big thank you to everyone here. :)
