refilling a cartomizer

Hi all,

If you let the cartomizer go all the way down to where they dont have much (if any) smoke and they taste burnt and the cart gets warmer than usual, can you still refll it or is the cart/atomizer ruined?

i popped the rubber cap off and i can see a little brown where the little wire wraps around the feltish material.

if they are ruined then it seems like its going to take some practice knowing when the cartridge is spent without letting it start to burn up.

you can refill them at that point, but there's a good chance that they're going to always have that burnt taste.
boiling them may or may not help.

i could be more vague but it'd be hard :-(
it's kinda a toss up to whether or not it's going to work again.

ok so the key is as soon as it seems like its getting low or the cart is getting warm quit and refill.. i guess its just going to take some getting used to

As soon as you notice a perceptible drop in flavor. It's ok if there's still some ejuice in there - better really.

I think I'm starting to get the hang of it. As soon as it tastes like crap I swap out the cartridge. Still waiting on ejuice to try out refilling them.

oh ok. its hard to tell for me right now. i mean i think its dropping but then im not sure and i take another drag and then it taste really bad and i think its already starting to burn.

Kent is 100% correct. You have to learn to judge based on flavor change/drop and perhaps a slight change in the vapor "consistency". If you wait until you get that "burnt taste" then it is too late for that specific cartomizer. The inner wrap has probably become burnt, and once that happens it will not properly wick the e-liquid to the heating coil. It will probably not produce good vapor or flavor after that... even when refilled.

I refilled many burnt cartomizers. I pop off the white cap, gently take out the rubber ring, and refill until I see the juice puddle on top of the fiber. Let it sit for 6 minutes or so, and if it's soaked down and looking kinda dry on top, I add more drops to where after another 5 minutes, it still looks wet.

Now I have a couple of methods to try to see which works best for me and my spastic attempts at DIY- lol

you tube...Dr. Vapor....cart condom refill. the easiest way to do it in the world!!! i wont go back to normal carts. buy the blank ones, get about 10 and you will be set for a long time.
