In my case, with mini protank II, I just wash all the pieces in hot water and then refill it with another liquid. After 1 hour or so,old aroma is not present anymore. And right at the start, old aroma is very weak.

Now,another question is, will the new aroma be even stronger if I put it in whole new tank,probably... but ,for me,my way is just good enough.

And when I said ,I wash the tank,I mean,I wash just the tank, not the coil. About coil,I just remove cotton wick ,use some paper tissue to clean it a little, dry burn the coil a little and add new cotton wick. Simple as that.

To me,that's just enough, but for someone who tends to be perfectionist, maybe not.
So,I hope I help you a little.
Cheers.

Sounds pretty much like what I do, though if the juice I'm cleaning out has a strong smell, I put in a little rubbing alcohol, shake it a bit, dump, and rinse with purified water to get all the alcohol out. I don't even bother with the coil unless the old flavor was really strong -- cinnamon or mint or something like that. If it's one of those, a new coil is probably needed, or you'll be tasting the cinnamon or mint in the new juice. Even dry-burning might not take those flavors out.

I used to use rubbing alcohol but heard there might be a problem doing that and was advised not too. Now I use vodka, gin whiskey etc

a lot depends on the juice, some flavors can be added that will compliment, some no so much. lol. It's best to get into the habit of proper maintenance and cleaning of gear for optimal vape and life of gear. I have a collection of re-buildable tank systems, each with it own flavor. When changing to a new flavor, will totally break down the tank, clean it, pull the wick, dry burn the coil, re-wick, saturate, then start fresh.

I just get my Mini Protank 2 and 3 as low as I can, then put the new juice in. I try to pick a complementary flavor, but the old one usually disappears pretty quick. At worst, it will linger for the length of the tank then if I fill up with the same juice a second time it's gone. With the small size of the Kanger Mini tanks, it doesn't take all that long to go through one, at least for me.

There hasn't been any of that stuff in my house in nearly 22 years, and never will be. So I use rubbing alcohol to get rid of bad odors, and rinse well with purified water, then use my blow-dryer on cool setting to air dry it. Although I have sometimes rolled a piece of paper towel into a thin swab and dried it that way. For the tools I use for filling, refilling, empty bottles, etc, I use white vinegar and water, which also removes odors, but is easier on plastic, but you have to let it soak awhile.
