I've had my Smokestick Hendu for a few weeks now, and I'm loving it...I seem to vape constantly lol. I've almost given up analogs, but still smoke 1 or 2 a day. After reading the forums here, I ordered some juices from 2 vendors and I've been refilling my smokestik cartos without any problems. So far, the flavor of the SS carto is the one I find most satisfying, but it seems very harsh to me even at lower nic levels. I've found that topping off with 50/50 pg/vg blend (Ry4) helps with that a lot and I like the flavor even more.

So I ordered a bunch of new SS cartos, planning to top them off with the Ry4. When they got here today, I tried removing the white cap like I did on all the previous ones I had, but it was very difficult to get off. I mangled the cap before it came off and then it flew halfway across the room. I replaced it with a cap from an older one. I tried a second one and mangled that one as well, but it didn't go flying anywhere lol. I tried a third from a different box and the same thing happened, only this time when it went flying, juice splashed on my face...including in my eye :( So, I'm done playing around for the night lol.

Has anyone else had this problem? Is this a common thing or is it just this one batch of cartos? Is there another way to fill the SS cartos?

yeah, I have had that problem with a pack of cartos I got from a local vendor. pretty sure they came from east mall originally. the ones I got also tasted nasty even after soaking them (probably because of the what the cap was glued on with). If I were you I would get in touch with the vendor you got yours from and see whats up and if there is anything they can do for you

Are these glued-on hard caps?

A suggestion is to use a fork to remove the caps and pry off while moving around the cap in a circle. I had to use a fork to remove the hard caps that were glued on with my first batch of Boge 510 cartos.

You could use the condom method to refill them, if you don't want to deal with taking off the end caps. There are lots of videos at YouTube showing how to do this. The original poster, dogsbody (here at ECF), made the first video. He's doggsbody at YouTube, and here's his video:

YouTube - Refill Ecig Cartos Quick and Easy (CCFM)

This method is more hassle and I'm only telling you about it due to the hassle you're having removing the end caps. Otherwise, it's a lot quicker to simply drip into the filler inside the cartos, after removing the end caps.

Here's how I solved the hassle of removing end caps:

I quit using the end caps and use drip tips all the time. They are great as mouthpieces, I can refill the cartos quickly using the direct drip method, and the air flow is much better using a drip tip as a mouthpiece, rather than sucking on the end of the cartomizer.

I'm having the same issue - it is hard to get those 4081 white end caps off without mangling the whole cartomizer. Any other suggestions besides using a fork?

I just buy the soft cap ones now. The hard cap 4081's I've decided are impossible to take apart with out mangling the cap and occasionally cracking the whole carto tube.

I've had success with the smokestik carto ends by using one of those thin, inch long nails (the carpenter kind, not the finger kind, LOL). It easily fits into the mouth hole and then it's easily maneuverable and you can work up the edges real quick. It's the only way I've used that doesn't wreck or bend the hard plastic.

Some types of cartomizers have hard end caps, or worse glued on endcaps. That type is more often found at rebranders who want to discourage people from trying to refill their cartos (so they'll buy more the rebrander).

I am not sure but I think Smokestik is basically the same model as RN4081. So you could try some of the soft-cap 3.0 Ohm ones here:
The NEW GP Double Deuce 22 Cartomizers

or these (and this site also sells attys and blank carts for 4081)
