Welcome, Joe! This thread got me started on dripping, changed vaping for me. I find myself giving dirty looks to cartomizers.

dg, isn't it weird how quickly you can change and completely forget about what existed prior, and not hardly remember what is like to be without what you currently have?

Given what I started with, cartos and crappy liquids, It's hard to believe I stuck with vaping. For the heck of it I tried one of the the cartridges that I used to like (a turkish tobacco pre-filled cartomizer) from my original setup the other day... It was like inhaling cardboard that once stored peanuts. Blech!

For me I like dripping but don't have the time ::sigh::

I've tried two dripping solutions, but more for when I'm out and about -- the Killer 705 and AMP Tank. Neither are perfect, but the AMP Tank has been fantastic for me. It uses a dripping atomizer and you can get the capacity of a small tank.

Ya I want to try a bottom feeder but alas to poor.

The Vapage VMod is relatively inexpensive and the company often has sales. A lot of vapers I know rave about this bottom feeder.

Does anyone have any suggestions for dry burning 510-T atties? You can't see what's under the spike to see if the coil is glowing or not.

If no one has an answer then you might try swishing it in vodka so that it will dry very quickly. I use 100 Proof, blow a couple times from the bottom then suck air through the top until I can't feel the coolness or taste the vodka in the air. If you're wanting to burn off gunk then maybe an absence of smoke would be a clue? Or maybe have a finger on the bottom of the atomizer when you fire it - that would give a temp indication, I should think. Not being able to see the glow ... that's a tough one.

Edit: Well, I'm tired and didn't apply my own rules. Your question was very specific and my answerr no so much. Sorry.

Hi there. Now I am no where near an expert or anything, I mean I only have one apv and nothing else. But I just bought a dripping atty cause I read so much about it. And I gotta say its amazing!!!! The flavor, the vapor, the EVERYTHING!!!!! all I jave is 1 smoktech 510 bridgless. And I've had that for all of 4 hours. But I gotta say I think the "oldschool" you speak of was on to something.

Lets face it, people like the next best thing. Or the newest and shiniest. But I love the whole experience of using a dripping atty.

I think I'm a changed man.

(I've been vaping since feb of 2013, an itaste mvp and loads of juice. Vivi's an aga-t and 1 dripper, analog free) thank you for sharing your knowledge.

I have never tried a bottom feeder (Rios mod?), but from what I can tell there is no wick or filler material there so they can probably be at the top along with dripping as far as taste, TH, etc.

The advantage of a bottom feeder is you can fill it up and go a long time without having to refill.

The disadvantage, is you can't readily change atomizers and juice so, if you use different juices with an atomizer dedicated to each, bottom feeders may not be your best choice (e.g. your best choice would be dripping).

For me, I have my all day vape (Puresmoker Silver Leaf Menthol), but I have it in 6 ML bottles in both 8 MG and 16 MG... and use the same atomizer/drip tip combo for that. But also, I got various other flavors that I vape on occasion so... for me... at least for now... dripping is my best choice not a bottom feeder.. and I do not expect this to change in the forseable future.

But, everybody is different... particularly re tastes in ecigs... so, to each their own, and there are a fair amount of vapers that go with bottom feeders.

If you want to use a different flavor while using a bottom-feeder you can just drip some of the new flavor instead of giving it a squonk.
So really, it's the same exact thing as dripping when not using a bottom-feeder.

I guess what I'm trying to say is there really is no disadvantage to using a bottom-feeder.
Well, other than the size, which is why I don't use mine very often.
