I am looking for a good reliable mod that uses an 18650 battery/batteries.I would like to be prepared for the vapocolypse. Please post your personal experience with long lasting dependable mods.I would like to stay below $100.00 and temperature control is not something I am interested in.I am a tootle puffer who rarely vapes over 20 watts. Thanks in advance for your time.

The old school Sig 150 is a tank. The Heatvape Invader Mini is supposed to be damn near indestructible. I have an iPV4 that has never given me a problem. I have the RX200 and I love it, but it hasn't been out long enough for anyone to say how long it will last yet. The 100W iStick... meh. I have 2 of them and the chips seem to work good, but the body of the mod itself was built very cheaply. Batteries last forever on a charge though. The best thing to get if you want to be "vapocalypse proof" would be a mech. The chip in ANY regulated mod will eventually fail, but a mech will last basically forever if you treat it well. They can be dangerous if you don't know what you are doing, so do your research if you choose to go that route.

The most time tested reliable 18650 mod you could buy now is probably the Provari P2.5, which Provape sells now for $99 (sometimes less) including an extension cap. They have a sale on their Gold Zenkote model right now at $49 including the extension cap (needed to get to 18650 length) and that is a great deal if you like the finish. The P2.5 has certain restrictions and as a tube mod it is quite long compared to a box mod but it will probably outlast just about anything else, just based on it's long history of reliable use.

Best, most reliable tootle puffer regulated mod is the Provari. They are pretty cheap now for under $100 at Provape. You'll need to purchase the battery extension sleeve to use an 18650 battery. Why Provari? I own four.

Also ,I have been looking at the Wismec Reuleaux RX200 and wonder if anyone has experience with that brand.
I have two family members who vape and both recently purchased the RX200. They love it. I have vaped with it and although a little larger in size than what I'm used to, its not really that big considering it has 3 18650 batteries in it.

Kinda overkill isn't it?

I use mostly mechanicals but this has been a really solid device. My wife won it here in a giveaway.

Cloupor mini+
50watts, 18650, has TC if you want, I never use it, small, easy to use, budget friendly.

If its vapocolypse you are trying to stave-off. Then you need a Mech and RBA. Main reason, it can be fixed at the hardware store. Regulated devices are nice, till the smoke leaks from the PCB. Then you have dead mod syndrome. A mechanical unregulated mod really has no parts subject to failure.

Wow you guys/gals? are awesome!I knew I could count on you people.I have heard of Provari and they look like solid devices.I will definitely pick up an unregulated mod as well as soon as I find a good one.Help??lol
Also I realise 200watt mods may seem like overkill but imo just because it goes to 200 watts doesn't mean you have to use it that high. The battery would probably last me a week which is good. Thanks everyone for your terrific advice.I am really digging that Radius.Anyone own one?

Provari is KNOWN for reliablity, The Heatvape Invader Mini is a tough one and mine has been flawless, I even rinse it under running water. Koopor Mini is a good one that won't break the bank. My Presa Mini flew across the room and landed on the floor and still works like a charm. The RX200 ( i have one ) is great also, and for the size feels good in the hand. Sigelei's are reliable also.

I have a Radius. Very solid mod. The battery swap is more time consuming than most other 18650 mods. It's primarily designed to be charged via USB. And although it goes to 40W, I go through a battery way too quickly at anything above 20W. If I'm going to change a battery 3x per day I'd rather have their tube mods. Other people don't mind the battery swap. If you can get an 18650 to last all day and charge over night it's a great mod. I also have a small pile of P2.5's and a P3. When I use the Radius I use a Kabuki tank because it does a good job at 8-10 watts, giving me a decent battery life.

king mod and pick up a few kick modules; I have about 6 vw modules and 1vv; I recommend at least 1 vv kick because then you can simply set the vv to about 4 volts and once you know you have coils that work on it as that voltage then you also know you can even vape those coils without a kick if you have to.

the chiyou threading is the same as the king and you can get spare topcaps, bottomcaps and kick tubes for chiyou at fasttech.

The king has better fingerhold than the chiyou; mine has octagonal parts for easier turning; I think the newer version has knurled parts.

Re: temperature control, I don't think there is any reason to not get tc if you buy a regulated mod- unless you are getting a super deal; the vw option is going to be there for non-tc operation; my joyetech vtc mini even has a bypass mode for some awful reason; I'd rather if it had vv than bypass, or even a fixed 3.7 would have been better imo.

If you want reliable you should take a look at a REO. They come up in the classified's at under $100. Rob also sells blemished / budget versions at discounted prices. They are mechs but unlike many mechs they use a hotspring that will collapse in the event of a short circuit. They also have a lockable fire button, more than adequate ventilation. Good backup from the maker.

Since others have recommended mech mods, I'll put in my :2c: for the AltSmoke Silver Bullet. Not only does it have a hot spring, it has an optional battery extension tube available to allow using a Kick (turns your mechanical into a regulated mod, and thereby provides protection circuitry) and an 18650 battery. It's recessed side fire button is designed to vent gas in case your battery goes thermal. It's US made of aircraft grade aluminum; you could drive a truck over it and it wouldn't faze it.

I'm a big fan, owner & user of Provape power devices.
None of them have ever let me down, my normal daily use would be called abuse or extreme duty by some folks.

The Radius has become my favorite, I vape about 12 -14 mls of eliquid at 12w - 24w on a single charge/battery.
