Depending on how deep the etching is, varying grits of sandpaper should very easily take it off. I sanded the logo's off one of my old copper nemesis mods in just minutes. I finished it off with 600 grit paper after using 200 to do the heavy sanding. A day in my hands and pockets did the fine finish work.

I'm a die-hard 'spinner'.

I have a grinder/polisher motor with no wheels. Using garden hose pieces, rubber hose, tape, etc. I enlarge the motor shaft just enough to slide the tube onto securely. Then I turn on the motor and hold sandpaper up against the rotating tube. Just a few minutes with varying grit paper and the job is done.

Yeah I've used the drill press into a grinder or lathe many times.
