I have read all thru this entire thread and didnt see anyone who mentioned the easiest way to remove the paint from their batts and attys.
Take your batt, remove the atty and cart. Take a piece of masking tape and put around one end, making sure it covers the thread side or the led side (which ever you are starting with). Insert into a drill (where the bit would go) and get your really fine sandpaper (I recommend 400 grit). Turn the drill on, place the sandpaper against the batt and it will remove the paint. When you're done, take it out, put the tape on the other end and do the part that was in the drill.
Its really easy with an auto batt, a bit harder with a manual batt, but can still be done.
