removing threading

I know I saw this somewhere but now I can't even find it by doing a search. When you are making a mod, you have your dead batt and you want the threading off to screw your atty onto, how do you get the threading off of the battery or take the battery apart? Sorry I know this is already on here somewhere obvious, but I'm just blind today.

You are not blind Hinterscher, the search feature really does not work, and if it does someone needs to explain a lot of things about it.

I can't even find my own posts if I use search.
The way I try to navigate is by checking peoples profiles, but that is because I know who posted what, or at least I think I remember.

Finding anything in the forum is next to impossible if you don't already know where and what to look for.
And obviously the less people can find, the more threads will be posted that are repeat of the repeat of the repeat, making it still more complicated.

I wish there was a workable solution for all but since I don't know a thing about web design, I can't propose any solutions.

So far I have had more success searching through yahoo or google to find the posts in the forum , weird but true.

I searched "remove battery connector" and came up with like 70 something threads, that is where I got the one above. Search works about like Google, if you don't get results, reword the search. If you search "removing threading" you get squat, just like a woman, it's all about how you ask

That is exactly the problem, you get 70 results and 68 have either nothing to do or just mention lets say "remove", quoting does work in google but does not very well here.

Just try to find right now the thread I posted called "nice looking box mod" without knowing the EXACT title of it, you will get 500 results.

What else can you ask this lady search so it shows the result you are really looking for?

And how is anyone supposed to remember all that?

if I am looking for something I vaguely remember like a little water pipe mod tinear made, and suppose I don't remember tinear made it?

Try it and you will see what I mean.

Search:
water pipe, small water pipe, water pipe mod ,etc, and I bet you will take more than 5 minutes to find it.
To me that is not a "functional" search.
And we are not talking the WWW here, it's just the forum.

And I hope no one thinks I am trying to bash this forum, I just throw the question out and see if anyone knows how to make it better.

Try searching by author, like if I know its your mod, your thread, you can search by threads started by "warp" (uncheck the exact name box)

Yes, if you know the author its simple , what I mean is when you look for something you know you saw but don't remember the author or the name or the thread.

Anyway, maybe it's just me as I mentioned earlier, but how come there are so many threads started by people that can't find what they are looking for?

BB searches tend to suck, plus people are lazy

It helps to edit the tags when you post a thread, makes searching for keywords easier. The problem is everyone needs to do it to help out. I'll edit the tags on this one and see if it does any better.
