I'm posting this via a raspberry pi... and the raspberry pi is hanging off an lcd I parted out of a netbook that ran ubuntu (and temorarily have duct taped to my work truck console)... and it is currently connected to my orinoco gold card getting its wifi connection from my galaxy s4 running kit kat (my own custom image, by the way)... and I'm VPN to my work network through a bitfrost installation on some frankenbox I threw together a couple of years ago... but am remote desktopping a Windows 7 box with Remmina so I can both surf the web and watch my airGateway interface for the Ubiquity radios we have scattered all over the county that are freaking out from the lightening storm happening right now.

I pretty much exclusively use REOs. (One of those *is* a VV device, by the way). The only apple products I own are an original ipod and an ipod touch (so old it doesn't even have a camera), but since my phone is a better music player than my ipods, I almost never touch them.

At home, most of the machines are Windows 7 because there are gamers in my house. I also have a couple of general purpose linux boxes, a couple of linux netbooks, a file server running Red Hat, and a media center running LinuxMCE on Ubuntu 8 (yeah... I know... old kernel). At work, it's about an equal mix of Red Hat, Windows XP, and Windows 7, and a few special purpose machines running different server or router OSs.

wouldn't apple be more like a hybrid mod that can only use trademark batteries made by the makers of the mod, and has prebuilt coils that you can only get from them?

Hahahaha! You beat me to it!

I agree with the mech-Linux comparison.

Reo is also 'just' a mech too fwiw. (the vv's being the exception)

Via a possessed phone thats autocorrect is just silly

I always thought that Provape and the Provari were the Apple in the PV world myself.

Yes. High quality. Loyal fan base. Haters who are as obsessed or more than the fans. Both are always accused of being behind in technology or features, yet new versions sell out quickly. Both accused of being overpriced. Both just work...

(about Apple) generally high quality, loyal fanbase, frantic haters - I agree. But not the "it just works" part. I've experienced macs crash badly in many recording studio settings (to the point where I have several friends who'd go for something else if they hadn't invested many thousands in Mac-only software), as well as many "this flash drive/peripheral/whatever won't work because it's not approved by Apple". I'd hope that the Provari works better (I'm sure it does).

That would have been my thought as well. Not so much like a MacBook, but more like an iPhone. Provari appeals to the "fire and forget" crowd just like iPhones seem to do. They also seem to have the same status (whether real or perceived) appeal that iPhones have.

I guess that makes my Hackintosh laptop a Zmax?

Honestly I don't know that much about Reos, so I can't speak to that. (I am keenly interested though)

I use REOs and the only apple product I know is an old 40gig ipod. Phone wise, I always liked android for it's customization. It's not really possible to generalize people when it comes to their mods. Some guy may own all apple products and use an ego twist and some guy who owns a crappy dell my have all the fancy new regulated toys. I dunno where I'm going with this.... :|

I don't see any connection between a REO user and an Apple user. To me the REO. Is simply the best daily vape device, and I've tried almost literally every type of device at this point.

If I were to make any analogy it would be ProVari and Apple. Apple tells you what's best for you and shields you from 'bad' things. ProVari kinda does the same.

I dunno.

I made a similar comment yesterday on fasttech
for me
provari - apple (works perfectly well out of the box but has it big limitations; the best technology for the less tech savvy crowd)
mechs - android and linux (you can have the worst or the best outcome depending on your know-how) I think REOs fall in a niche subcategory here

I haven't given more though on the dnas and ipvs but probably a jailbreak iphone
