No problem, I think it's just as elegant as any other stabalized burled 18490 that's out. Like I said, I honestly do like how it looks. Remember you telling me about the other red mods and such that you have. Agree that it fits you very nicely along with the rest of your collection. Also, your house as well from what you've described.

Personally, I believe that color can work for men and women IMO. Blacks a good color, it matches with everything. Really never goes out of style. It's always good to switch things up with the changing of the seasons though. I'm sure your husband really appreciates that you save those dresses for him when you two go out. Especially when it's his favorite color. Anyways, heard from a few people that I know that came from the Dallas and Houston area that it is HOT down there. So, I can understand if you had to cool yourself off a bit. Personally, can't really stand weather hotter then 85 degrees.

No problem at all. I get people mixed up sometimes myself. It's no biggie. Only picture of Gil's mod that I can wasn't all the way finished yet but, I can imagine that it's gonna be really red when it's done. All of those woods are gonna make excellent looking REO's when they are done. Interested in how the Bloodwood VV is gonna look like when it's done. You have any pics of your DH's 18490? Only seen the pics on the website and they have a different look to them when people post their pics. Think I remember that thread with the Paduak Woodville. Really was a nice looking one. Plus, 1st run REO's are hard to come by now at days. Had my chance when Mike was trying to sell his but, I already spent the limit on my budget for ecig stuff for that month. Pretty much regret the whole thing.

Thanks, I love it but red is my favorite color. It isn't as elegant as the other colors but it screams "Feisty Alice." Our whole downstairs is burnt burgundy and barn reds, and such, except for floor and ceilings, and bathroom. No purple burgundy at all. You can see some of the red mixes in the wall in stairwell pictures of Bubs in Pet's Gallery. The carpet, on steps, has a little more purple hue to it than we like but it was the closest we could find in the quality carpet we needed in '96. The color has become much more popular now days. Anyway, Red Stabilized has just about all the colors in our house downstairs. It's very masculine colors. With my coloring, though, I can't wear clothes that color. Any reds I wear have to have a lot of blue in them. But I mostly wear black, my next favorite color, except for the brightly colored gauzy Rayon dresses I wear, all Spring, Summer, and Fall and then gently weep and mourn, all winter, until it warms up enough to get them out again. They are out now and I almost wore one today. DH hates them!!!! His favorite color is black and he likes me best in black so I save my Black Rayon dresses for when we go out anywhere together. I do heavy duty work in them; no under garmets, and jump in the pool, to cool off, and they keep me cool for a while until they quickly dry. When I go into town I do put on undergarmets.;) So Feisty Alice has totally veered off subject, as usual.

Kisses to that Big Boy of yours and slobbery ones to the Bubs. Duh.... I was thinking I was responding to Darrel.

Hugs, Alice

{edit} It's Rob's doing. I told him I wanted red if he had it; any red Stabilized. I hope it's different from Gils Tesla. I think his Tesla is more red than my red and probably has less tan in it. I have a piece of very dark red single color Stabilized Maple, that is slightly figured but not burl; just some dark stripes, but not a lot. Some day I'll get it to Rob along with the boo-koos of Pink Ivory and the American Holly. Of course I won't be able to afford any more for a long while. Rob is doing an 801 on a Bloodwood VV for me. I have no idea what door it will be. The only Bloodwood I have is the door on DH's Walnut 18490. I think it is one of the prettiest red colored woods he does. The two 1st run Paduak Woodvils are a very nice red, too. They are the deeper color Paduak. I caught one on Classies, a while back. I just couldn't resist. It was RED.

Just checked it out myself and I have to say that it looks better with the pics that you took. Probably due to the natural light that was shining on it. Pics really don't do the stabilized burl REO's justice. Can't really take a pic that represents what the mod really looks like neither.

I just went to reosmods dot com. My Red Stabilized 18490 is Stabilized Burl #10, first page. Note it has the 801 connection on it. It looks like were are several others out of that same block. The ones out of that block all look more maroon than they really are. It's really hard to get some of the colors to look correct in pictures, and it's not just ones monitor. I've viewed them on at least five different computers.

There's always a hot market, from a few people, on getting many of the older REO's. Fortunately Karen's job allows her some time at the computer, so she can, at times, keep a good lookout for REOs. I caught a glance of a big disappointment that she, just recently had, going to great lengths, dedication, time, and emotional energy to procure a REO(s) for someone, she thought she could trust, who turned around and traded it for something else. What a big disappointment and personal hurt. I so understand. So I will exercise much restraint in asking her to "find" a special REO for me, even though she knows I wouldn't dare let her down. We "fillys" and "old mares" are still creatures of prey no matter how tough we seem to be and how well we hide our vulnerabilities.

I think I posted a picture of DH's walnut/bloodwood door but not sure when/where. I'm sure it didn't show it at it's best. I think the absolute best pictures of the Bloodwood is Karen's Bloodwood/Spalted Mapel, Peter. Seems to be just about everyone's favorite. In an email, from Robert, he said something to the effect of, "Yes, Karen loves the unique combos." Fortunately for me, both of the original Woodvils that are Padauk, (one wenge door and one bocote door), are very red. That wood ranges from orange to very red to almost brown. It's just the nature of all of the "red" spectrum, colored, untampered, with exotic woods. One of the most expensive woods, that is in the red spectrum is the Pink Ivory. I have a huge board and several smaller pieces that I'll eventually get to Robert. The big board ranges, across the board, from light pink, to medium pink, to almost red. It is one of the woods that has one of the least affects from UV turning. (The reds and purples usually move towards brown from UV exposure.) It is very fine grain, works well, and polishes up looking like glass. And yes, all the pieces cost a fortune!!! There will be plenty for Rob to make many future REOs out of it. There is only one Reonaut, so far, other than me, who gets first pick for a REO(s) (You know who you are.). But, as I've said there is enough for many, many REOs. "First Pick" is up to Robert's discretion. If he decides so some may have a range of pink in them or even range of tan/pink to pinkish to red. I'm just going to request that he cut me some rough blocks for future REOs and throw them in a special small bin, I've requested, labeled "Feisty Alice's Bin," and do them whenever he is doing a batch of Wood REOs, in any/all sizes. Again, there is plenty to go around!!!!

It's really late, I have another doc apt in the morning. Otherwise I would find some pics, on internet, of finished Pink Ivory pieces.

Hugs, Alice

any way or chance that an 18490 can be built vv? i really dont want anything bigger than the 18490.

Well........... I do have pretty small hands. See picture of 18490 Stabilized Red in my left hand. My right hand, especially my whole thumb from, tip to wrist is severely handicapped with arthritis. I find the larger WOOD REOs to be therapeutic, including the original Woodys. They are so easy to hold and grasp and, of course, the button and placement is the BEST!!!

I understand the desire for a more stealth size. Otherwise I wouldn't have so many Mini Woodvils and (only) three 18490 Woodvils. I even stealth vaped, in the outpatient/discharge/wait for ride room today, at Surgi Center, for almost an hour, with my "Mike's" teak Mini Woodvil, under close observation by my discharge nurse, while waiting for my ride. (She brought me two cups of coffee after I finished my Zero Sprite, and even though it was powdered creamer, it was two of the best cups of coffee I've had in a while, made even more so "the best" by being able to vape with coffee. I blew the small remaining vapor, after holding in for a few seconds, into the neck opening of my baggy sweater. It was caramel/almond. They don't allow any perfumes or products with perfumes on patients at all. For last half hour I was the only person waiting and I didn't get busted!!!!!!!)

Would be nice to have a smaller VV REO but, I can't imagine what batteries could be used with it. Think the 14250's could work but then the battery life would suck.

I don't think battery life would suck all that much especially if you are used to carrying a Mini with 14500 battery. What I want, the most, is a Mini size with larger juice capacity. (That's why I prefer the old skinny bottle tubes to the new ones.) I'm thinking a juice bladder might be the solution, with hard plastic screw threads; could probably get 2-3 extra ml in one with it filling up all the reaming space for the juice bottle.

Only reason I said that is because the IFR 14250's are only 200mah. Don't think that there would be much battery life in those. Especially when your pushing it at max voltage. If there was some way to have dual 14500's in there then that would be better. Since I like using the 14500 batts. They have a decent amount of life in them in general IMO.

Anyways, that might work. Another thing that can be done is to have a longer bottle and if the feeding tube was shortened a little bit. Which will definitely make it possible to put 1-2ml extra, maybe more.
