If it kept the REO safe at the end of the day. Then that's all that matters IMO. 1st run REO's are hard to come by you know

Don't we know that.:) All of my Woodvils are first run except for 3rd generation Purpleheart Woody I got as a re-home. I wouldn't have been so quick to trade first run Padauk/Bocote with Jen for Purpleheart/Curly Maple if Purpleheart had not been first run. And I have a Padauk/Wenge, in addition, so getting a first run Purpleheart Woodvil and her getting the Padauk was a win/win for both of us. I picked up the Padauk/Wenge on classies but Padauk/Bocote was from the sale on Robert's site.

Only bad thing about having first runs of REOs is it makes them a little bit more collectible and creates desire to protect them more. DH has my earlier Silver Grand out of town right now. I'm not nervous about him taking his scratch and dent Silver Mini, out of town, weekly, but I'll be glad to see Silver Grand get back home safe and sound. Purple Grand, from newest anodizer has landed at UPS store. It's a first run purple from the current anodizer so it goes into the "special" category. (It's been a while since Robert has done Purple.) Not that all REOs aren't special.

Hugs, Feisty Alice

OMG I LOVE THIS THREAD!!! :wub:I could just gawk at all the mods here all day long. Every time I see a new one I love I think it's my favorite .....til i see my next favorite. I don't think it would be possible to make a mod more beautiful than the Reos. Stunning. What's really crazy is as gorgeous as they are here in the pictures is that they are even better in person. My camera can't capture the way the light hits the wood but they are truly incredible works of art and I feel so lucky to have one. Lucky me my husband has one too so I get to look at 2 every day. :p

Going totry and add my 2 new additions. Lacewood #4 & Afzelia Burl 18490.

Beautiful! Very good pics. I love the Afzelia burl. Lacewood is so different texture wise from any other wood. I can just feel it and know what wood it is. Only that and my Cocobolo can I tell just by feeling.

Some people have asked how to clean catch-cup of WOOD mods protecting the wood. I stick their wing-wangs through the wire mesh, with or without tube bottle cap on. I then scrub with humming bird feeder brush or DT brush with warmed 90% isopropyl alcohol. Alcohol warmed in pyrex measuring cup, in microwave, in 5 second burst till hot, but not too hot to touch. BE REALLY CAREFUL HEATING ALCOHOL IN MICROWAVE. IT CAN FLASH. You can use colander or whatever else the tube will fit through.

You can flush the tube with or without pressure using syringe.

Rewax after.

BTW... Those are two Walnuts and two Curly Oaks. Three 510 connectors and one 801 connector.
