can i just play around with different resistance attys to find the sweet spot or is it not the same

Sure, you can do anything you want.

VV allows you to use any atty you want & adjust the voltage to taste. The Mark IV VV is the least expensive feeder VV on the market right now. It's a nice well made mod & only $155. If it has to be metal, then REO is the only game in town & it is not VV, although you can run 6v or 5v with a new battery just put on the market. I don't think you can go wrong with any of the options. Look around & decide which is best for you.

Yes, absolutely. There are two things that vv does: 1) allows you to adjust the voltage to the "best" spot for a particular atomizer, and 2) allows you to adjust the voltage to maintain consistency as the battery power drops off.

I have found atomizers that I like for certain types of juice, so I don't need vv for #1, or maybe I'm just not really really sensitive to hitting an exact sweet spot.

Also, I use AW IMR batteries, which stay pretty consistent until they drop off, as opposed to most protected batteries, which lose power constantly and gradually from the time you put them in the pv, so #2 is not really important to me.

What I found important was not having to worry about carrying bottles of juice and napkins. I like the fact that with my REO, vaping is easier than smoking. So that is my #1 priority.
