i take the atty off the mod. Screw it into a 510/510 adaptor that i can grip better and then go to town on it, with no risk to my Reo threads.

Well, I'm gonna give this a shot...if I'm way wrong, someone i hope will correct me... try spraying it with some lubricant...just a little, then use pliers COVERED WITH A CLOTH SO YOU DON'T DAMAGE THE FINISH ON THE RM2.
After you get it off just clean it in some warm soapy water and let dry...or blow it dry with a hair dryer on low.
Another suggestion...when you screw the top onto the base try to make sure that it's lined up good..if you feel it "catching", back it off and do it again. Some of them are a bit rough on the bottom of the cap.

Try sticking it in the freezer for a couple of hours and then unscrewing it with a rubber sheet used to open jars like black6host suggested.

My favorite place REOSMODS received my #2 REO last Saturday for the 510 fix and I got it back yesterday! Is that not awesome service??? I am happy to have them both home and safe with me......hehe....until #1 REO goes in for the entire overhaul. I think I may need to give them names?

Little Caesars bacon pizza was good but not near as good as it looked on the commercial.heehee But I love some bacon!
