Ok, how hard would it be to set up an 8 way webcam conference between members here? Or 6, or whatever. I bet a few folks would join in. Me, I hide my webcam in a drawer so the gubmint don't spy on me So I'm not much help here. Any open source out there and could anybody host it?

We use webex at the office, but you have to pay if you want >2 people in on a call. Blujean is supposed to be good, too, but again some $$$ involved.

Maybe Google Hangouts would work - it supposedly supports up to 10 locations.

ETA: hmmm... I suppose you linux freaks might be restricted to only certain applications.

Oh, I'm a dilettante when it comes to OS's. Mostly (gasp) OSX these days (plays better with both my work and home networks).

I suppose Google hangouts might, or could be platform agnostic. Skype appears not to be, some clients can only get audio. I'll check out Google. I think it'd be a hoot.

Hi Doffy, thanks for the kind words. It comes in so handy since it's so cold out now. Between my hair, beard and hat my head is covered pretty well.
