Well, it is HUMP day! I just do not know how you Reonaughts that live in the north survive. My max VG is so thick I have to prolong the squonk to get juice to my wick and it is only 45° outside for my walk. This is one of only a few days of winter we swampers get to experience. This is cold enough that socks and fur lined flip flops just will not do. Took ten minutes to find some shoes.

Good evening Reokins. I just finished removing heavy wet snow from the driveway with a shovel. It was too heavy to use a snowblower. Anyone know if the sun is still up in the sky? I haven't seen it in days.

Where is Mama lately? Anyone hear from him?

I just saw him yesterday, finally posted on pdibs thread.

Well, I got my order of KGD today and wicked up my daily Reo. I think it's a bit easier to work with than cotton balls. Taste is the same as a fresh organic cotton ball wick. To me anyway.... I'll have to see if the consistency makes a difference in taste over time. It is much easier to get a wick that is consistent from end to end in thickness. So I guess I'll use the KGD until it runs out. Now I've got backup for my wicking material :) (Of course I have years worth of the two now...)

I've probably got enough KGD to last the rest of my natural life so I used the cotton balls to clean my face and the animals ears  I agree, it's so nice to have a consistent wick that you don't have to play with and finger forever to get it just right. I do though notice a difference in taste and the KGD doesn't seem to disentigrate as fast or at all that I've noticed.

I also got some Nichrome coils in today to try. So far so good. I'm noticing at the same gauge and ohm it's heating faster and cooling faster. I don't notice a difference in taste though.

Are there any issues with off-gassing with Nichrome? If not, what are the advantages over Kanthal?
