i woke around 6pm yesterday, now 24 hours later am just settling down to sleep for the night. i'm usually a master nanna napper, but i agreed to cook today and had to be awake, didn't trust myself to wake with an alarm

i live in an apartment complex, but on my way to the mailbox or dumpster, i pass by another apartment whose renter has ripped up all the apartmenty useless shrubs and has planted all sorts of veggies. it is quite a feat in urban farming.

i can recognize the beans and pumpkins from my childhood, but that's about it

That'll work. I'm sure Papaw won't mind.

I know why I can't sleep. Our a/c is out. It's just now getting cool enough that I MIGHT be able to sleep for a little while.

I used to live in AZ., and I heard that all the time! Lemme tell ya' 130°F is HOT!

The problem with San Antonio is that it's also humid. Humid heat isn't any hotter than dry heat. But, the humidity makes it hard to breath! The air is thick and heavy.

I'm just glad I don't live in Houston. Talk about humid!

Well, everyone's off to school and work. Pills taken. Better try to get a little more sleep before the sun gets too high.

Oh I'm very familiar with San Antonio and Houston, I live 30 miles N.E. of Memphis, so I know what humidity is!

My district HQ is Houston, and I worked there for a month last summer, same as here...

Hopefully you'll have it going soon? :thumb:

One summer here in a house I was leasing we had the normal summer monsoon rain storms and lightening (blowing up stuff everywhere) and we had 3 days of no electricity; it was miserable!

Another year the actual A/C unit needed replaced and luckily the owner wasn't a cheapo, but it was still like two and a half days with all the work loads of the A/C people this time of year...

Yikes. Feel for ya with the AC out.

Wife and I have a place in AZ and last year the AC pooped out in July while we were there. Not pretty. Humidity just makes it worse.

Back home here (south coastal Canada), the temp range is small. Every time I buy an outdoor thermometer I ask if I can get a discount since I only use a quarter of it.

Indiana
Indiana has been having some unusually cool weather the past few days. Windows wide open weather. I ended up putting on my hoodie on with the jammies while I was still up and on the 'puter last night. Mind you I'm not complaining, I'll take a lower electric bill anytime mother nature feels like providing the discount.
