I had a similar issue with mine. I was running a 1 ohm single coil in an RM3 and getting .... for performance. The same battery, same atty, and same coil on a tube mech mod was performing a lot better. If you break a REO down, Rob did some great engineering on the simple system in it. My workflow was as follows
1. Full disassemble down to the positive contact pin.
2. Scrub everything with soap / hot water.
3. Air dry.
4. Full assembly with dexoit on spring, spring screw, and the firing sprig.
At this point, it was slightly better but still pretty crap. I had just gotten a new spring and a new positive sprig so I ruled those out. The other other part left in the system was the contact pin and its connection in the system. I left the black metal holding plate off and when firing I noticed arcing between the positive sprig and the positive pin. It looks like there was just enough space for it to not be making good tontact. I just pulled the whole thing out and replaced it and the silicon insulator. I also took a screwdriver and scratched off the finish under the spring plate. After I did this, it was performing like I expected.
There aren't many things that can go wrong and they all can be easily fixed for a low cost. I was having to use 2 batteries at 1 ohms to finish a bottle and now my batteries are at 80% after 1 bottle. BIG improvement.
