hello everyone,

I got my Grand about 2 or so weeks ago and I have been loving it ever since. However last night when I got home from work I switched from one juice bottle to another. After swapping in the new bottle I proceeded to sqounk and then start vaping, I got two decent tasting vapes out of it then it suddenly stopped working, depressing the firing pin produces no reaction at all. I think it may be an atomizer issue but I was already using my last one and I am waiting till I get paid to order a fresh set so I don't have an easy way to confirm that. I know its a long shot but I was just wondering if anyone else had any suggestions about what could be causing the problem, thanks in advance for any help you can give me.

Hi mgaruccio -- I'm sorry you're having this trouble... nothing sadder than having a great pv and not being able to use it!
I'm sure you realize now that it's best to have lots of backup atomizer, juice, batteries, and even another Reo! :)

As you suspect, it may be your atomizer has stopped working... if have a fresh battery and you puff and puff and get nothing... it's the atomizer.

Another thing to have in your pv goodie bag is a multimeter...this can cost anywhere from between $10 to $50 bucks. With a multimeter, you can check the OHM reading of your atomizers, and the voltage reading of your batteries. I know that after spending lots of $$$ on vaping stuff this may not be welcome news.... but it will spare you lots of grief in the long term so it is a good investment :)

If you know your batteries are freshly charged, it must be the atomizer. The only other suggestion I have is to apply a dab of noalox to the positive end of the battery for better connection from the atomizer to the battery...again, if that doesn't work, it's most likely an atomizer...so sorry.

By any chance, how is the health of the spring on your Reo -- is it fully extended, or is it laying flat? Because if the spring is flat that means there was a short caused by the atomizer caused the spring to collapse - in which case, you would need to send redeyedancer a pm about whether you should send the Reo back to him for a spring replacement.

wow thanks for the quick replies everyone, unfortunately when I ordered the REO I made the mistake of not ordering enough atomizers or any cartomizers so right now I am out of luck. I think I may have a multimeter at home that should work that I will be trying when I get home from work today. I just ordered a single new atty, that will hopefully last until I get paid and stock up on them as well as a few packs of cartomizers just in case something like this happens again. Thanks again to everyone for the help

I have a couple of new empty standard 510 cartomizers, and an old but working LR 306 you can have if you like... send me a PM with your address.

If you have a Harbor Freight near you, you can get a multi meter from them for 4.99.

You also may want to keep a cartomizer or 2 as backups. BigHitter started a thread here about Reos can run cartos too. Look for it and read it. The cartos will not instantly die on you so if you run out of attys, they would give you time to order some more. However, having a supply of backup stuff is by far the best idea, including a cheap multi meter.

Good luck.

I actually have a harbor freight down the street from me so I will be looking in to that today, I always forget about the random cool things that store has. and at the moment it looks like friday I will be going on an atty ordering spree, I have been meaning to check out a few things from ikv as well as some different resistances on the cisco atomizers so I should be order 4 or 5 new atties.

I am seeing more and more Smoke Shops and Liquor Stores carrying e-cigs and parts around here. It may be that you could get an atty at someplace near you to use till Friday. I have also noticed that they are usually more expensive than what you can get from some of the suppliers here on ECF, so that's the good news and the bad.

There are a few places around here that sell rebranded 808 stuff but not a whole lot else. a new atty has been ordered form avid so now im just hoping that usps gets it here as quickly has they have been lately.
