1.08 ohm coil. Readyxwick,
Not much flavor. Wonder if I should go back to cotton. Someone sent me some Rayon as well, wonder if I should use that instead?

Not that I've done a scientific study on this or anything, but I have found that RxW does at least change the flavour profile of the juices I've run through it. A/B tests (as in: build with RxW followed by same build rewicked with KGD) have borne this out with 4 juices. Not necessarily muted per se, but different and mostly not as good.

Could be coil strangling, I suppose, but the builds were 1/16" micros with 2 mm RxW "screwed" in (and squonking not an issue). Vapor production, TH, etc. were all equivalent.

Correct. To me, the flavor change is dramatic. I tried it, wanted to like it, wasn't for me. Used the paper clip method.

I will say having used rayon for months and just today I received my readyxwick - the RxW definitely changes the flavor profile for me. I don't have that harshness as I do with the rayon. The flavors are more harmonious - I can actually taste the subtle flavor undertones of the juice. In other words - I love RxW.

To each their own - glad you found what works for you! But I would suggest to at least try some of the suggestions above - less wick, raise the coil, build coil first then screw the RxW into the coil.

Everything I read said to put a paper clip through the ready wick, then wrap a coil around it.

I can't get this technique down to where it works for me either. I build me a coil with a 1/16 drill bit or rod using both the tight micro coil and the spaced ugly coil depending on my mood and then thread the RxW into it. This ensures I do not choke off the RxW. Once the RxW is in the coil I will take a paperclip or a smaller rod and insert it into the coil to be sure it is open all the way through.

I am pro RxW because it fits my needs and my vape. I can leave home for a week and only take batteries and juice. It just doesn't get better than that for me. It is nice that we have choices so each of us can spend the time finding what works for us.

Vape on and enjoy.

Both of these have great flavor for me.

Try this.

I'm glad you have a vape you like and i'll not get into a crooked argument about a bit of wick, but i will say that wrapping directly onto a wick - ANY wick is not the way to go. After all, with your cotton or Rayon you make the coil first and then thread a wick thru it no?

T

Yes, with cotton, coil first and put the wick through after. With the Readywick, I don't seem to have a suitable screw driver. Is there an american drill bit size that is recommended? I have the 2mm wick.

Any idea which page on that thread tells you how to coil and wick it?

1/16 = 1.58mm

I just love it when an OP doesn't give all the pertinent info... IMO it doesn't get any easier than RxW. As FB and ST have explained already, wrap a 1/16" micro or ugly coil and thread the wick in like a screw into a nut... A simple 1/16" drill bit will suffice to wrap the coil. I have had some wicks last for 2-3 months and some I just was bored with the build and wanted something different. To me, there is a difference in taste when it comes to wicking media of all sorts. The thing I know for fact is with RxW I have no other taste to my vape like I had with cotton, silica, ekowool, and KGD. They all had an off taste from the start. The KGD was the fastest to break in and lose the odd taste, but I never once have gotten any odd tastes with RxW. It is right on from the start and maintains it through the end...

Tried this many different ways. Readyxick = less flavor.
