Hi All,
I just received my RM 3.0 in the mail and I have a couple of questions.

The vent holes seem pretty tiny. Has anyone opened them up similar to the RM2?
How does everyone position the vent holes while vaping?

Also, are there any videos or pictures of RM 3.0 builds I can look at to give me an idea of how the atomizer will work best?

I guess I'll just check out Igol L dual threads/videos and see what I can learn. I get very satisfying results with the RM2 at 6volts with a single coil. I may just drill out one of my RM2 caps and see what that's like with a dual as well.

You can build a single "dual coil" on the RM2. Take TWO pieces of thinner guage Kanthal (30, or 32), and instead of wraping a single coil... you wrap TWO pieces of wire adjacent to one another at the same time. I tried this, and it worked great! I used 30g, and did 8 wraps (equaling 16 coils) and got .8 ohm. Yes, it was a long coil, but fired like a freight train!! It also used up my battery a lot faster, and used more juice. And it was a little to hot for the juice I use, but this technique put out the clouds.

I may try it again, and get to about 1.2 - 1.4ohm. That range brings out a sweeter tobacco taste on a single coil. I can imagine how the twin coil would be.

For the RM3...

Try vaping with the stock air holes first to get a gauge of the draw. It's similar to the RM2. It's also a SS atty, so drilling is a little harder than the RM2 (which is plated brass), but some folks have done this and are satisfied.

I position the coils just as with the RM2 - as close to the edge as possible and air hole height from the deck. As for air hole orientation on the device, I use a 1.0x10.0 o-ring and position the holes at 9:00 and 3:00, relative to "up" when I tilt to take a draw.

As for videos of building for it, there aren't a ton out there but you could search on YouTube for "A6 atomomizer dual build". If you just search "A6 build" you'll get pages of Audi builds :)

That sounds interesting. Do the coils not touch eachother? I would have thought it would cause a short.

They touch, just do not cross them over each other. At first glance it just looks like a regular microcoil, but then a closer look you see the two legs on each side of the coil. I've seen them referred to as parallel coil builds, so that may help find a vid on it.

I have done this build and they are definitely a warm to hot Vape. Depending on your resistance, they are the type you hit for a second or two. Great if you are a quick hitter.

I have also took this build one further and have done a parallel sleeper coil. A sleeper coil is dual coils using a single wire. So imagine parallel coils using the same parallel strands for both coils. This build took some time, but it's another warm flavorful one that gets you clouds with shorter hits.
