Hello, trusted Reonauts.

I have officially asked for a RM2 for Christmas this year. I am really hopeful I will dig this rebuildable better than the Bulli and Zen I once owned.

I would like to make sure that I have everything I need to wrap a coil and test it out once I receive it on 12/25. My wife will be ordering and I don't want her to mistakenly forget to buy any wire for it.

Since I cannot access reosmods.com from my work PC (some stupid Barracuda filter in place) and I cannot see if Rob sells wire. I'd like to get 28 gauge Kanthal since I have read good things about it.

Questions:

Is wire on sale at Rob's website?
Is there anything else I need besides the RM2, wire and some sterile cotton from CVS?
The O-ring needed for the juice well is included in the RM2 kit?
Does the RM2 take standard 510 drip tips or do I need to buy a special one?

I appreciate it, guys. Last thing I want to happen is receive a shiny new Reomizer and NOT have what I need to try it out.

Thanks a bunch.

The RM2 is a great little atomizer. Rob sells wire on his site, suggest 28 and 30 g as a starting point. Needle nose pliers, tweezers, and a butane torch are helpful in building. The RM2 comes with a 1 mm o-ring. A 1.5 mm is helpful if the 1 doesn't line up the RM2 as you want it. RM2 takes standard 510 DTs. Enjoy.

You should also buy a 1/16" drill bit or something along that line if you don't already have one. I use 30 and 28 gauge pretty much equally. I would recommend you buy wire elsewhere though. Not only can you get 50-100 feet very cheaply, but it is much easier to work on stuff when your wire is on a spool, as opposed to get 5 or 10 feet rolled up in a bag.

To echo Jazz, the 28 and 30 are staples, get a sample of each with your order and then bulk up later.
The drill bits, well...you should already have them for the Dremel.

Cheers

Welcome back..haven't seen your LOWES vaping face in awhile ;)

I prefer 28ga wire. If I use 30ga it tends to snap off when I tighten my screws down. I will go 10 or 11 wraps at 1/16" and it always meters out at 1.3 ohms. Very sweet on my vv grand at 4.3v

I would also suggest a darkzero micro coil jig. $15 or so .... just search ecf for it. Makes building consistent MICROS a breeze!

I am pretty low tech here. I don't use anything fancy schmancy. I agree with the 28 and 30 wire to play with.

Depending on what is handy, I use a toothpick, a wire nail or even the screwdriver I use to tighten the itty bitty screws (you should get an extra in case you drop one and can't find it). I use my old Bic lighter instead of a torch to get my wire to glow red before I wrap the sucker around whatever, then I meter it and if it is all good I just twirl the wire after I tighten the post to break it off.

The only thing you have to have is something to read the coil after you get it on the RM2 so you know what your ohms are, and you can use one of those silly tube mods you may have sitting around, or a fancy meter if you are so inclined.

It really doesn't require much to get a great coil going, or any particular skill. The fact that I can do it proves that! And since you aren't playing with mesh like I used to, it is really easy.

You are gonna love it!

Thanks for this info. I have toothpicks and a 1/16" drill bit too. I used to wrap coils on my Zenesis Standard and had no difficulty. I just didn't enjoy the vape. I agree that with Rob behind the construction of this atty, I will be in vape heaven. Come on, Christmas.

Sometime in the future: Turn on the remote desktop on your home pc and forward port 3389 through your router to that machine... unless your company actually VNC's your display so they can watch what you are doing, in which case, you should probably just never use your work computer for anything your job doesn't force you to anyway. --Remoting home you are actually using your home pc and home internet connection and just watching/controlling it from work, so barracuda doesn't know or care what your home computer is doing.

After doing an inventory check on all the vaping "stuff" I've accumulated over 4 years, I realized that my REO Grand was getting used only for long drives & outdoor activities (maybe 10% compared to my other mods). Essentially, only using carto's and atty's on it, which I've completely moved away from.

Well, after listening to many, I decided to pair up my REO Grand with a RM2 & 30amp batt....BOOM!

The thing hits like a freight train!

Easy/Peasy setup...28 gauge Kanthal (5-6wraps, approx. 0.8ohms) and some nice organic cotton.

Also easy to clean...remove the cotton and keep using the coil for a long period of time!

Best investment in an RBA I've made to date!
